Bumblebee Tuna Sensations
Hi all,
Checking in with a new product this week. I'd seen it in the tuna section before, but I'd only ever gotten that low fat tuna salad with crackers 'ready to eat' lunch pack thingie magiggie. Suddenly there were all kinds of new flavors, from Lemon Zest tosSundried Tomato and Basil, to Spicy Thai Chili.

Now I was never really HUGE for canned tuna. A nice seared tuna steak or some titaki or some sushi? Sure! But the scent and flavor of tuna in a can never really appealed to me. It is, however, very good for you, high in dense protein, and with a little lite mayo or some italian dressing, it can be a good thing.
So, I like spicy. I LOVE spicy, actually. And I decided... what the heck? If I don't like it I'm only out $3. But it might make a good meal if I do. I have been meaning to eat it for days, but either I passed it up because it was tuna in a can, or I just wasn't hungry.
I just finished my first little 'lunch pack' and it was really sensational. It did have a little kick, but nothing I couldn't handle. The falvor was fantastic, I could taste sesame oil, garlic and the chili. It comes with its own little spoon and 6 Ritz-like crackers. Granted the crackers are a little fatty and rich, it compliments the tuna well, and its not a bad meal at all.

Thanks those sound great. I am not a big prepared foods person, so I always hesitate at those already seasoned things. I am so used to that being a bad thing for my well being :)
I have been using the Starkist White Albacore packs without seasoning. However, I just don't like them alone so I make the following salad for the week and use it with the tuna and some cottage cheese.
My family loves the salad and it goes with lots of things. Use either some cherry tomatoes or dice up some roma, half of a white onion, and a cucumber. Dice all the ingredients, combine in a bow. Drizzle with a bit of high quality extra virgin olive oil and then add some white vinegar. Toss to coat everything evenly. Store in an air tight container. Lasts for a whole week and great for when you want a crunchy snack too. You can also toss on some feta when you get out your serving.
