Hey Botts

Happy Monday!  The weekends go by so darn fast.  As some of you know I have had to put myself on the back burner while my DH was suffering with Vertigo.  He has not been able to function since July.  They could not find a reason but I feel strongly it was his diabetes being out of control.  I think it was a major factor.  While I was trying to get him healthy, I let myself go....  Now that it seems he is better, I need to get BACK ON TRACK

For me working out is key..it gets me going and the food follows.  So I am going to ask for your help and join me.  With the holidays coming if we don't, we will be dealing with additional poundage

So here is my food plan for the day...

Breakfast
Steel Cut Oatmeal with scoop of whey protein and walnuts and a few raisins
Snack
Apple with Low Fat Peanut Butter
Lunch
Grilled Buffalo burger and salad
Snack
Almonds
Dinner
Grilled Chicken breast, 1/2 sweet potato and steamed veggies
Snack
TBD

Cardio Monday - 40 mins on the treadmill working back up to an hour.

I have to remind myself to take it slow.  It's hard to do so when I think of what I use to do, sniffle, sniffle.  But we here on Back On Track have  a saying, DON'T LOOK BACK UNLESS YOU ARE HEADED THERE!!!

Have a BOTT Day and if you find yourself having a hard day, let us know.  We are here for each other

Take care,
Kathy

Slow and easy wins the race   (Or so they would have you believe - as you well know PATIENCE isn't one of my virtues LOL)

Just do what you would tell us to do - mainly love yourself and forgive yourself for being human!

I wish you well

OMG count me in!  It's Monday and again I'm starting BOT.  (So far so good today!)

I am so sick of being weak.  what the hell is going on with me?  I'm a grown woman for cryin out loud.  I should  be able to control what I put in my mouth.  The other day I actually 'woke up' and found myself with a glass of protein in one hand and a cookie in the other.  Is that nuts or what!  I have to get it together.

You are absolutely correct about the holidays.  It's always a dangerous time of year for weight control.  I do want to lose some weight but I need to at least come out of the holidays even.  I've been gathering and testing some low calorie receipes.  I made the pumpkin pie from HG and it was actually fabulous!  You would never know it was lo cal.  I cut the receipe in half and then made it in desert cups.  Perfect!

Goals today:
track food intake before I consume it
stay under 1000 cal
protein count above 60

B - protein shake
S - apple
L - small spinach salad with cottage cheese
S- cherry tomatoes
D - sweet potato, grilled chicken
S - protein shake

First thing we have to do is stop beating ourselves up.  I can tell  you some really messed up stories and I am so far out I KNOW BETTER.  But our hearts and emotions get the better of all of us.

When we were going to get my DH tested for a possible stroke I grabbed a hand full of M&M's and threw them in my purse.  My son looked at me and said what are those for and I said stress eating, protein bar isn't going to cut it.

The good news was when I started to eat them at the hospital I felt sick.  My tool still works I just have to stop fighting the sucker and work my tool

I am going to email Cathy and I think it would be cool to put a sticky up for us to share healthy great holiday recipes.  Thanks for sharing.  And thank you for helping me.  If you start to faulter, let's hold each other up.  I will do the same!!!!

WE CAN DO IT   If we fall, we will pick each other up!!!

Take care,
Kathy

I have had 2 situations where my DH has been down and out with his health and both times I could not leave him alone.  I find I just forget about me when I am faced with a crisis like this.  At the end of the day, I don't have the strenght to even go to the basement to use the treadmill.  I know it's emotional.

I am hoping to get back on track with my eating and again my exercise.  Exercise is my trigger to get healthy again.  Once I do, I also need to come up with a game plan to handle these issues differently.

My DH is 63 and I am sure we will be going through this again.  Of course I am only 29    Yeah, right....

Thanks for helping me

This thread is exactly what I needed this morning!  I have found over the last several weeks that I have eaten my fair share of tootsie rolls from the halloween candy (I have thrown them out) and every carby dish imaginable since my kids need to eat dinner too.

I have recommitted to journaling, tracking food and drinking more fluids, also my motivation mp3 it helps me when I can't help me....definitely need a plan for when I am tired...this is when I eat the most off track.

thank you again for knowing exactly how I feel!!!

Have a great day....

Hey Girl,

Thanks for joining me!  Don't forget the protein, too.  Often and a lot.  I find our tool works the best when we get the protein in.  If I don't start the morning with my protein I am behind all day.

We can do it together

Hi Kathy,

What works for me may not work for you, but may I suggest you take in more protein more often during the day.  I find if I get in a lot of protein, over 100 grams or more I am not hungry at night.  I too love to eat at night.  Try eating every 3 or 4 hours.....

I also try to workout after work and then take in a protein drink or treat of some kind.  I find I sleep well and I am not hungry.

Thanks for helping us...

Take care,
Kathy
