Back On Track Together
I admit it, I've been lurking, but could really use some advice.
I'm 3 years RNY post op and everything was great until Feb, when out of the blue my employer closed our office with about... (wait for it) -That much notice. I've since gained 20 lbs and feel horrible, sluggish, cranky and just not good about myself. I've tried the 5 day and well got to day 3 and fell off and got run over by the wagon. I so want to bet Back On Track so Monday I'm going to faithfully start the 5 day, any advice, guidance, discipline you can give would be GREATLY GREATLY appreciated. This surgery gave me my life back and I don't want to waste the time I have left by feeling this way.
Thank you for listening to my rant!!! This is truely the best group I've come across and I respect your thoughts and opinions so very much!!!
Love and God Bless
Michele
I'm up 10-15 lbs give or take. I feel crappy too. But every day I start over. I wanted to have 10 lbs off by Thanksgiving. I was down but am now back up so I'm even. *sigh*
Come back and keep posting, it really helps. Here's to a successful journey!
Welcome to BOTT. Let me be the first to say.... thank you. Thank you for being brave enough to post the forum and share your story. I want nothing more than to see your success, so I hope to hear alot from you.
I'm so so sorry to hear about your burdens. I cannot imagine how hard that is to take on and I understand how that can lead to old bad habits.
You seem to have th right idea on how to get back on track and I think you are taking a good effort for that. I'm not a big fan for the 5DPT, but many have been successful BOTTing on that. Just remember that if it really is too hard to stick too (your prior attempt mentions so) that there are other options out there that can help jump-start you in the best way that works for you.
So.
Keep posting, let us know how you're doing... and most of all, let us know how we can help you keep doing that.

36 lbs from goal!
Welcome to the BOTT family!
I've tackled the 5DPT before, and it is a beast - but works really well and breaking the carb habit. However, if you don't stay on it, that bugger's standing right around the corner waiting to come back and whisper in your ear. So, I would recommend that you use the test to break the carb monster, but also concentrate on your triggers and the other things that help pull you off track.
I'm here any time you need an ear - just PM me, and we'll chat!

WELCOME!!!!! Hope you find this site as helpful as I have. There is no way I would have been able to get back/stay on track without their caring, support, understanding and acceptance. Don't be shy , please let us know how we can be most helpful. When one of us succeeds we all succeed.
If you're comfortable, post often and allow us to share your journey. We've all been there and done that or we wouldn't be here.
Many of us have benefited from reading - really reading, not just looking at the words - the guidelines Kathy has posted for us at the beginning of our discussion page. Usually there's no one thing - but a combination will help us stay firm in our decision to use our tool of WLS. Write down all the reasons you were excited about having the surgery originally. For me, I have to plan my food at least one day ahead - preferably 2 or 3 days - & write it down & if I eat off my plan I need to write that down too. I wish you well
