Ehhh? Tootsie rolls? Oh the bane of my existance... I blame my father. Any time I went to the penny candy store, he'd say I had to spend a nickle worth on tootsie rolls for him. Of course, I fell in love with them too. Now those little mini things are evil... evil evil evil.

Are you giving them away for halloween?

Yes, I'm giving them away for Halloween - all of them.  Otherwise I would have thrown them away.
I can't have just a couple - oh no...it's a pig out kind of thing.  geeeze!
I don't know why I'm having such a hard time.  I am totally focused on eating. I'm trying all liquids for a couple days to see if I can break this snacking, grazing habit I've gotten myself into.  Been a looooong day.

Fortunately I now live in a condo and rarely have any trick or treaters, but when I did, I finally learned that the only way there were going to be goodies when the kids came was if I bought stuff I didn't like - of course I had to begin "laying in" goodies at least by the first of October just in case some poor child came early - sure didn't want to disappoint them by turning them away empty handed - like any self-respecting parent is going to send their child(ren) out trick or treating Oct 1.  Make sense is sure NOT  the minimum daily requirement for being a human being!!!!! (If it was, there'd be no human beings on the face of the earth LOL)

Good luck defeating those really wretchedly rotten tootsie rolls!!!!

I bought candy for work. Put them in production area. A day later - they are all gone.... 
I am not planning to buy any candies for my house.- not enough children in my neib.
But I got  some apples for work.  Nice and healthy.   I think.

I will buy some more candies for work people (i am the boss) after - on sale.

I don't know if it will help but I read that Tootsie Rolls last a maximum of 10 years.  10 years!!!  What combination of stuff, in addition to all the sugar, makes them last 10 years???  That kinda grossed me out and helped me to think of them a little differently.

Although your idea of them under the frozen veggies sounds great!

10 years!!! I had no idea.  OMG it's just like a Twinkee!  Put these 2 in a time capsule and we can feed future generations.
