A fine Good Morning BOTT family

This is one of those days I can "feel it in my bones" that I'm going to draw heavily on BOTT POWER.  Thanks to one and all for being out there and caring.

CHALLENGES:
Feeling "weak" both physically and emotionally - it's all in my thinking I know - so my motto for today is NO JUNK IN MY TRUNK.  I know what it is - I'm scaring the living daylights out of myself.  Will have guests coming in tomorrow for a week and they delight in eating out - this means that for 7 or 8 days IN A ROW I will be eating out at least once a day.  OVERLOAD!!!!!!!!!!!!  My goal is to not let food control me and ruin my time with my friends - but for me to control my food.  Just because I am eating out DOES NOT mean it's OK to pig out!!!!!

EXERCISE:
Same old same old - climb at least 12 flights of stairs, no more than 6 flights at a time, and some walking

FOOD:
B - Nature's Path hot organic oatmeal - cinnamon blueberry flaxseed -150 cal
Health Wise choc drink - 80 cal
S - HW  choc drink - 80 cal
L - HW beef & bean enchaladas - 210 cal
HW choc drink - 80 cal
S - HW choc drink - 80 cal
D - FAGE total 2% - 130 cal
HW peach mango fruit drink - 70 cal
HW choc drink - 80 cal
Market Pantry light apple juice - 60 cal

1020 cals               97g carbs              123g protein

Jump for Joy Because You're You   (My head needs to focus on this today - hope it also helps someone else have a wonderful BOTT day! )

Been sticking to the protocol, but seem to have plateaued.  Thinking about starting the 5 DPT again on Monday to get kickstarted again.

Cardio:  30 min walk with Pancho (the dog)

Cafe:

B:  Starbucks/scrambled eggs and cheese
S:  boiled egg
L:  Boar's Head Ovengold Turkey Breast/Lacey Swiss Cheese
S:  Pork rinds!
D:  Low Carb Lasagna (340 cals and delicious!  No noodles!)
S:  Jello (SF/FF)

Have a wonderful day...if you have any suggestions on how to kick this plateau, let me know!!

Janelle - I hate plateus!!!! but, unfortunately they are a part of reality.

For me - one of two things seems to work - but not necessarily overnight - one is to increase my exercise and the other is to have an all-day liquid protein day as that is a comfortable way for me to cut back on calories.  I know several people on this site do the 5-day pouch and it seems to work very very well for them.

The thing I have to guard against is getting discouraged and pigging out - never mind that it makes no sense that if I'm not losing then pigging out is going to assure I gain?  Truly, making sense is NOT the minimum daily requirement for being a human being!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck on whatever you choose   I know you will make a good choice for yourself

Good morning BOTT group

My morning is going well so far.  Best wishes happy on the eating out, it is one of the hardest for me, most of my friends are like I use to be.

Janelle let me know if you start the 5 day pouch test.  I have never done it and would like to try it.

Getting back on track, I got on the treadmill for 15 minutes and just 7 minutes on my stationary bike but I feel good.  I have not outlined my full menu for today but did have a protein shake w/banana before exercising and a boiled egg afterward.  Today I am shooting for 900 calories.  I am going to try to alternate between 900 one day and 1200 the next to see how it works out.  I am wanting to keep my carbs under 75 which is sometimes hard for me and also to keep my protein around 75.  In the past this worked well for weightloss in my case.

Wishing you all well and success in making good choices.

Z, I've found either my carbs go up and my protein goes down - or my protein goes up and my carbs go down - if I'm eating the calories I should be eating.  So - I keep my calories on track and make every effort to keep my carbs no higher than 100 and shoot for a top of 70.  It was a hard lesson for me to learn that if I eat too few calories I don't lose because my body thinks it's going to starve so it goes into survival mode and holds on to every calorie I eat.  You must do what is best for your body though and what is best for me may not be good for you at all.  I know several people on this site have done the 5-day pouch plan and found it very helpful.  I haven't because I find I am much more satisfied having an all liquid protein day when I need to cut back on calories a bit.

Good luck with your choices

Happy
What types of liquid proteins do you drink on the all liquid protein days.  Are they like unjury chicken soup and/or the powdered protein mixes.  I have tried proteinex only once.  How much protein did you drink during the all liquid day or do you worry about quantity of liquid?  Never tried it so I can't knock it.  I would like to give it a try.

Thanks,
Z

Z - I have been able to buy for my use and resale a couple of lines of food and that is my source of liquid protein (Health Wise).  I have both a regular protein as well as hot chocolate and hot chocolate with marsmallows.  All have 15g of protein and are 80 calories (except the hot choc with marshmallows and that is 85 calories).  But I also use Unjury protein which have 20g protein and are 100 calories per serving.  Any flavor would do just fine.  I usually try to have between 850 and 950 calories (but if I'm wanting more will have more).  I find this really satisfying for a couple of days but on the 3rd day I tend to begin to crave and it's counterproductive for I have to really fight pigging out.   This works for me, but everybody's body is different and what works for me may not work for anyone else.  It's so important for us to learn to listen to our own body - and we just aren't used to doing that at all.

I wish you success - it isn't a matter of luck, it is a matter of getting our thinking straight, making a plan that makes sense, and following our plan - no matter how "hungry" we may feel.
