Weekly Successes
Hi guys
I'm not calling this thread weigh in anymore, as I want to focus on success, whatever form that takes, numbers on scales or not.
So, what are your successes this week?
1. I was expecting to have gained back all that I have lost recently with my carb fest over the last few days, I have avoided the scales because I didn't want to know. But I am so pleased that the number stayed the same. Not that I'm going to use that as a get out clause - I still made poor choices, and need to turn the corner.
2. managed to turn it around when I was in a complete funk and eating any carb that wasn't nailed down - and I have to say it was all because of my BOTT family. I reached out and got the help from people who I knew I could offload onto and got me through it - YAY!
3. I have overcome a difficult situation at work, although the situation hasn't changed, my attitude towards it has.
What are you building on next week?
1. Continue to improve my eating, reducing the carbs cookies
2. Improve work/home life balance
3. Smile and laugh more, learn to get the most out of every moment, whether enjoyable, tough or even sad.
Have a great week that brings all that you want it to
hugs, Ruth

I talked to myself this morning about focusing on the positive things I do for my health rather than beating myself up on the cheats.
1. I went to the grocery store and bought good stuff. Lots of raw veggies, no sugar juice, whole grain wasa bread, yogurt, high protien soup, etc. No junk. Planning for success!
2. Not baking cookies again until Christmas. Promise to self.
3. I actually ate dinner tonight. One of my biggest problems is that I don't eat meals, I graze.
4. Planning tomorrows meals and snacks tonight.
One step forward.

I'm so proud of you! Great plan. I especially like the promise to self. I should make 2 or 10 of those. Excellent choices!

36 lbs from goal!
I like this, Ruth.
While I did like the "weekly weigh in" I may have been the only one who put the twist on it and read that also as the "weigh your feelings/head in"... But this is more direct, good approach.
This week I stumbled on monday. I didn't do anyting. While I didn't exercise, I also didn't eat badly. it was sort of a rare neutral day. After that... I told myself "Just gotta want it" and have hit the track religiously every day at 3:30, my normal snack time. I am challenging myself to beat my last time. And its working!!! I am 1 lb down, and I can really actually, BELIEVE ME, see it in my waist. (where I normally show loss first) I'm dead excited. I love it and feel great. I am also trying hard to resist that "Hey I won this week, lets celebrate!" feeling I ALWAYS get when I lose a little. I am dedicated to keeping it up. This weekend will be great for that, as I am attending the FAIRE and will be in about 20 lbs of velvet, a corsette (reduces appetite, really!) and eating very little, and walking ALOT. I am so looking forward to it. It will be wonderous.
Ruth, I have a question for someone who's culture I idolize the history of. Do you guys have alot of Rennie faires? Are they year round? Or specific to times of year? Is it as "exotic" as it is here? (Doubt it)
My goals for next week
I WILL be under 170 next friday. Maybe sooner. I will celebrate in a healthy way when that short term goal comes.
I will allow BOTT power to fuel my fire. I was avoiding it for some wierd reason the last few days. Your cheerleader is back, ladies and gents. DEAL!
I will drink a whole and at least one half extra water bottle (34 oz) this week, every day. Even if it means drinking less coffee. I have no excuses.
I will find a new, exciting and easy exercise for the sub-challenge for the group for Monday. Experimenting on ME this weekend.
Seriously.... I LOVE AND LIVE FOR BOTT!!!

Faires here are not widely known about or done! It is much more a sub-culture thing that you need to be in to but as far as I know they are few and far between, and it's much more wide spread in American.
In the general culture round where I live there is a medieval weekend at a large old estate house that runs events and concerts but it is more jousting display, and selling crafts to generate money type thing. My hubbie has reminded me that we saw something for one near Cambridge a few years ago that we wanted to go to but never did. I must find out about it and look it up.
Sorry not much info, but thanks for the reminder to us!
