Biotin question

Does anyone take biotin supplements?  I want to try this for hair and nails but it says right on the front of the bottle 'Promotes Carbohydrate, fat energy metabolism' absorbtion. I really don't want to absorb any of those things.  What experiences have you had?

What exactly are "biotin suppliments"? Are they pills? What's the ingredients?.... Personally never heard of em.

Absorbsion of carbs and fat are not a bad thing, as long as you are aware of the absorbtion. Do you burn X amount of calories a day?.... Burn Y more. That sort of thing. Those warnings are there for observant people like us who care what we burn.

Carbs and fat are not BAD.... Happy says we need like 150 carbs a day just to have a healthy brain, so... absorbing that much is not bad. Its just making sure we otherwise have a good diet that counts.

Let is know. If you decide to take em. We are here for ya, and remember.... nothing is forever. If it doesn't work out, we can always get back to basics.

When I first had wls I took Biotin tablets - it dramatically reduced hairloss.  I really noticed the difference when I was taking it and when I 'forgot' to ake the tablets for a while.  Actually I've been thinking I need to start again as my hair loss is getting that way again as I'm losing weight again.

It worked for me...as has been said, you can always try it and see if it works for you.

I do need it for hairloss for sure.  I was just concerned about the additional absorbition of fat and carbs.  Seeing that I'm trying to lose weight I didn't want to make it any harder than it already is.  Did you notice anything?  Any weight gain?

Well I was a slow loser that's for sure, but I don't know if it was to do with the biotin.  I hadn't heard of those side effects before.  Almost everyone else on the board I was active on at the time (all people who had surgery in the same month) was taking it and others were fast losers.

Sorry that doesn't answer your question.  Why don't you try it and see what happens.  I am sure the worse it will do for yoru weight loss is mildly slow it down not make you gain...
