Back On Track Together
Friday Weigh In
HI Everyone
how have we done this week? Maintained, lost, gained? Whatever the outcome of the scales, we are all sucessful. Sometimes we need to expand our vision of what sucess is. Did we chose not to eat that extra portion, even though the scales are not saying what we want them to say? Then we were sucessful. Did we chose protein when our bodies were craving carbs at least once this week? Sucess. Did we walk instead of take the car? Take the stairs instead of the elevator? Did we do at least one of Sionangels challenges this week?
Do you see? Once we start focussing on the positives of what we ARE doing right, we can build on them. Set your eyes and heart on the goal, and your actions will follow.
So for me this week, the scales stayed the same even though I had the carb monster on my back all week. I am very pleased I did not see a gain. My sucess, is that I managed to rein the carb monster very slightly, and not let him have complete choice over what to eat.
This week I'm going to build on that, and make sure I reduce that carb monster to a smaller version.
My other sucess - I did Sionangels challenge (some of the time). This week I'm going to build on that, and do the challenge more often.
Hugs to you all, have a great successful week

Down 1# today...oops gotta fix the ticker. I am 239# now, started at 334! Getting there. I have been journaling my food on occasion, took my vitamin a handful of times and took my vitamin D today. I know it's not that impressive but I am trying. Oh I forgot I went to the gym (but only 1x so far)! Tomorrow I am participating in a Walk that is 3 miles and you get prizes. Never did one so not sure how I will do. I am taking my 12 yo dtr. Some one on one time!
Bad stuff:
Of course I am not 100% BOT yet so here is what I discovered this week:
Lab results: POOR!! Low in everything. Both my primary and surgeon's office called me in. I started Vitamin D today.
Skin and eyes very dry and irritated, pale looking (according to my 12 yo)
Ketones in urine
Still not eating right or enough (mostly enough)
No or little protein
No water/too much diet soda
no to the other suppliments
What I did Good:
Gym
Did journaling in both my food and mental health journals
Made myself eat a small portion of chili yesterday at 3:30 pm (1st time I ate that day...just busy and not hungry)
Created a schedule to get everything in (NOW I GOTTA STICK TO IT)!
Cut back from a 2 liter of diet coke a day to 3 can of diet soda...1 in the morning of diet sprite, 1 in afternoon of diet coke, 1 in evening of diet sprite. The next step is to also add water in first, then the soda and eventually cut to 1 or none a day.
That's all I can think of now. Hopefully I have a better report next week! Scratch that! I WILL have a better report next time!

What an excellent post, Ruth! You are absolutely right, there are small successes we all do/see every day, but forget when we hop on that scale and see a lb up, or stay the same. A nice, inspiring post!
Lets see, I increased my exercise regimen, decreased my caloric and carbo intake, increased my water intake... and get this... I exchanged 1 coffee for a tea (black and all natural) yesterday! I feel excellent today, sore, tired, and excited to do it all over again. I got back to the gym.
What's the biggest one? I found a truer than true goal, one I can envision because I've seen it before, and I know its possible. I plan to fit into my wedding dress again. This dress is custom designed against my body at a size 6, roughly 1 year post up (a bit over two years ago). It was completely hand-made to follow -my- curves. I know that once I do fit in it again, there could be nothing sweeter. So every time my body felt like it wanted to putter out this week, walking, lifting, craving carbs.... I closed my eyes and saw myself on my wedding day. And I tell myself this mantra::
"I've just got to want it"
And before I even open my eyes, I'm pushing harder, faster, and smiling. I've never wanted a goal so baddly in weight loss. Its always been a size or a number on the scale. But this was something else, something made for ME, that won't fit anyone else, that CAN and WILL look absolutely amazing on me.
Anyways!...

36 lbs from goal!
Yup, its hanging right beside the bed, so its the first thing I see in the morning, and the last thing I see before bed. I thought that was clever of me.
I surely will share some pics of myself all decked out. I wish I had some here, maybe when I get home I can share a few of my wedding day.
Catch ya on the flip-flop!

How wise you are, Ruth. Our tendency is to focus on the negatives and ignore the positives. I believe it was Jimminy Cricket in Pinoccio that sang "Accent the Positive, Eliminate the Negative" and that, my friend, is exactly what you were talking about. GOOD FOR YOU - THANKS FOR REMINDING ALL OF US
OK - my successes - last Sunday (when my jeans were so big by the time I got to Wal-Mart I thought I was going to lose them right there in public LOL) so I decided it was time to buy some new jeans - 1. The size 4 fit and the petites were short enough I am not going to need to have them altered Also, have maintained my goal weight within my below-goal-weight cushion zone and my above-goal-weight cushion zone for another whole week This may not seem like such a big deal for I only reached my goal weight August 31 - but, NEVER before have I maintained this long without starting to regain - slowly at first, and then very very quickly - so, for me, this falls right into the category of a miracle!!!! An even bigger miracle is that this time I know what I have to do and how to do it - planning, counting calories, and drawing on BOTT POWER
Thank you one and all for allowing me to be a part of our BOTT family. Couldn't do it without you
