Good morning BOTT Family!
This week has definitely thrown me for a huge loop. I learned a lot - the main thing being that even if I am so dang busy that I can't do anything I want to do - I NEED to set aside the time to plan my meals, or out of habit, I make bad decisions. I didn't plan well for two days this week, and found myself slipping back into the old habits that got me here in the first place. So, it's a new day, and I've made the promise to myself that no matter what, I've got my handy purple posty note with my plan (even if it's sketchy) of what I will be doing that day.
It's the little tools, isn't it?
Anyway - today we're heading over to Chapel Hill to do some exploring - some shopping, and just some 'couple time' which is always welcome :) Lunch is up in the air for me - because my DH doesn't know what he wants to do - but I have a few ideas of what I could do depending on where we stop. (We have some frequent haunts in that neck of the woods).
Here's the plan
Cardio: Lots and lots and lots of walking.
Food:
B - Yogurt and Kay's Natural Cereal
S - Luna Lemon Zest Bar
L - Up in the air - protein with a salad most likely.
S - Again, up in the air
D - Shrimp or Chicken Fajitas - we're going out to dinner with a friend of ours
S - Protein Shake (to get me over the target for protein for the day)
I know I'm going to be fighting all the carbs I've eaten in the past few days, so I'm armed with my water, and some tylenol to get past the headache (which is already creeping in..*sigh*)
See you folks later today!

Being on "Grandmother duty" has it's challenges. My granddaughter, who's a new bride (informed me last night they have been married 41 days) brought her cookbook (a wedding present I'm sure to try a recipe for the first time for breakfast. I managed to cut back the calories a bit without hurting her feelings (it helps that her mother, my daughter, is a successful by-pass patient) sp managed to clear the breakfast hurdle. The zinger is we ate out last night (not a disaster) but tonight she wants to go to Golden Corral (her favorite resturant) That will be a challenge, particularly since I'm facing challenges three days in a row. But, this is maintenance and I need to learn how to handle non-routine meals with style and grace. This is scary, but good practice.
We are going to the Gulfarium this afternoon and I will walk there - but my sciatica nerve is not happy so will have to use my cane and take it easy.
All I can say about food is a promise all of you and me I will make wise choices.
