Hello to all my beautiful BOTT buddies. I know none of you ever feel this way but it feels as if all I do anymore is take kids to school, practice, games, scouts, and church. Or, clean house, do yard work, run errands, work or cook and try to fit sleep and wife time in there. Oh yeah and now I need to find time for football.

Anyway, I am SO thankful that I am able to do all these things that never seem to end. 3 years ago I NEVER left the house unless it was to go to the doctors or church. As busy as I am now, I was many times more depressed. I am thankful that I have a place like OH to come to when I need a reminder that I am not alone in my journey.

Our church is doing a program called Read Through the Bible in 90 Days. It is about 45-55 minutes of reading a day. I have been getting up at 6am everyday with my 2 boys (15 and 9) and we read. I am about 7 days ahead in my reading. The encouraging thing is that my 9 year old has almost finished the book of Genisis.

I just wanted to touch base with everyone and let you know I am still here. Happy gives me a friendly reminder if I have been away too long  .  Sion, Have a great time at your War Weekend. Cathy, thanks for all you do here on the boards. Maybe we could get together for coffee sometime. Genie, You are an inspiration to a lot of people here. I love reading your posts they are always insightful and encouraging. Kathy, even though we dont chat much, I appreciate all you do here on the BOTT board (and its nice to see your pic on your avitar). To all the new people who I havent met yet, HELLO  .

Ok, enougth rambling. Have a great weekend! See ya!!!

Hi Wayne,

What a nice way to start the day by seeing a post from you.  I always love hearing from you.

Yes, I know how it feels to be back to back busy, busy, busy.  I love the Bible reading you're doing with your kiddos.  You sound as though you're juggling a lot but keeping it all in the air!  Can you teach me?  Lately I feel so overwhelmed that I'm doing a little crashing and burning!!

Thanks for your sweet thoughtful comments.  I'd enjoy getting together with you.

We have a special group here on BOTT.  You're at the top of the list.

Take care my friend.  Hugs, Cathy

Cathy

Thank you so much for the encouragement Wayne. You have been on my mind and I was wondering how you have been doing. Now that I have heard from you I can rest my mind, but I do miss you posting your meals especially the spicy ones.  I like to try new things!  Hurry back you are missed.

So glad you were able to squeeze in a bit of time to post - no small achievement with your busy life.  But isn't it grand to not have to be bogged down with depression.

Please come as often as you possibly can.  We need you.

Wishing you peace and joy

Hi

I'm interested in hearing about your 9 year old reading through the bible - I have a 9 year old and would love to do that with her.  Is he enjoying it?  How is it going?  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ruth (and thankyou for the reminder that no matter how busy and hectic life is now, it is sooo much better than pre wls when we didn't have the option to be this active!!)

Ruth, It has been an awesome time seeing my boys want to read the bible. It is a program that our church is doing, kind of a call back to the basics. We wake up about 45 minutes before they have to start getting ready for school (it can be anytime this just works for us) we each read untill time to get ready. Some people in the church are readind aloud to thier kids but we wanted them to get used to reading it on thier own. Make sure that your daughter has a bible that she can understand. There are some really good modern english translations at most Christian book stores. One thing you might also consider is getting the Bible on cd. This is what my wife has and she listens to it when shes in the car. You can get the same info we are using at http://biblein90days.com/

Hope this is someting that you try. It is very much worth it.
