Getting back on track is already working!

I followed everyone's advice (I read several older posts) about limiting the carbs, and I ended up losing three whole pounds in one day!

I am sure that most of it is water weight, but it is still an awesome incentive to keep with the high-protein, low-carb diet.

Thanks for the inspiration and advice.

Thanks for the support.  I have forgotten how much I got from my OH friends when I was a newbe to the site.  It is great to chat with folks who have gone through, and are still going through, the same experiences.

I kinda messed up this afternoon.  I went grocery shopping and didn't eat lunch before I went.  The good new is that I purchased a lot of fresh fruit, veggies, and lean meat.  The bad news is that I ate a Payday bar for lunch.  I am making chicken and rice for dinner tonight, but I am skipping the rice.   I am doing A LOT of water this afternoon to try to help as well.

Alicia - I think that makes you human - a real bother, but we're stuck with it LOL  I still can't eat rice without it stopping up my opeing - fortunately, I've never been a rice eater so not having it is not sacrifice at all.  You might want to condiser tucking a relatively low calorie/low carb protein bar in your purse for just such times.  Kind of an emergency kit to head off eater's remorese.

Hi Alicia,

A great big BOTT welcome to you.  This is a wonderful group. The members here are so special.

BOTT started out to be about keeping us on track or getting back on track with our WLS lifestyle, specifically cardio and food.  However, to me, BOTT is about our lives in general.  Anything you want to do or want to change, posting about it here and sharing it with other BOTTERs has made a huge difference to me.  So when I started this GROUP, it was about our wls lifestyle, food and exercise.  To me now, BOTT is a minset, a lifestyle and a way of living our best lives.

Thanks for joining and hanging out with us here.

I am down another pound today.  It is almost scary.  I am afraid that the next time I weigh myself I will go up.  I am working on the low carb, high-protein diet, but it can't be that easy.

I know a huge part of it is being able to get support from the group.

Again thanks for helping to keep me honest and inspired.

HI Alicia

welcome to BOTT land - it's a great place to be.  I've never been able to focus on eating right for so long before now without getting fed up and giving up.  Everyone here has encouraged me to keep going, even if I'm not seeing the result I want all the time.

Great news re your loss - water ot not, yoru body obviously didn't need/want tha****er in it, so the loss all counts in my book.

Thanks!  Everyone has been so great and supportive.  I have not been 100 percent on task, but I am getting there.

I know what you mean about losing focus.  In fact, I wish I could lose weight as fast as I lose focus. lol

My biggest fear is that I will start gaining the water weight back and get depressed.  It is the depression that brings me to the carb binging.

I so appreciate the support.  I know that just keep in touch will help me so much.

Take care.
