Friday (YEAH!), BOTT Cafe & Cardio

Hi BOTTers,

I'm looking forward to this weekend so much.  I am going to try very hard not to work.  My stomach hurts today and I think it is because I am stressed about all the balls/projects I have to do and am juggling.  I'm tired because I didn't sleep well last night.  Those are all red flags as to wanting to eat to make myself "feel better" so my awareness is high so I don't emotionally eat.  To someone that doesn't have food issues, it makes no sense to be tired, overwhelmed and stressed and want to eat to feel energized and better.  Oh well, that is me and I know myself well enough thankfully to be on alert so I don't!  Thank you to all of you for us being here for each other.

CARDIO:  Day off

FOOD:

Cottage cheese
1 small pancake with margarine
Vegetable strips
Morningstar soy sausages (4)
Green beans
Jalapeno Mustard Pretzels
Tilapia with green beans
Cinnamon Toast Pretzels
Power Crunch bar

Have a fabulous Friday as we BOTT.  BOTT POWER to all of us!!

Good morning!

I know all about the stress eating thing.  I don't know what triggers it, or why I think that eating will help me 'calm down', but I find myself doing it when I'm not being mindful of what I'm putting in my mouth.
Today is going to be a hectic day as I dig out from too many days of not doing everything that I needed to do since I was distracted and pulled elsewhere.  Tonight would normally be a night that I'd tell my DH that I just want to go out for dinner and not worry about cooking, but I have a recipe at home for a Mexican Stir Fry, along with all the stuff for it, so I'm going to cook tonight, and behave!
One other WOW for the day - when I took my blood sugar this morning - the fasting level was 99.  That is the first time that I've seen it under 100 since I was in the hospital and on medication after my surgery.  To me, that is a HUGE thing.  I've not been taking medications, and my numbers have been hovering in the 'danger range' a little longer than I'd like them to be - I don't want to have to go back on the diabetes medication - it's just proof that when I monitor what I eat - my body does what it needs to do! (YAY!)

The plan for the day:
B - Protein Shake
S - Yogurt and Kay's Natural Cereal
L - 4oz chicken, Romaine lettuce, and ranch dressing
S - Cheese Stick
D - Mexican Stir Fry and Low Carb Tortilla
S - Cottage Cheese with SF Caramel Torani

Have an amazing Friday!

Well a 3 day weekend sounds like just what you need, Cathy, and I hope you do nothing but sleep in, relax in the sun and enjoy yourself and your family. Its the little things sometimes that really help when you avoid that comfort eating. A smile from the DH, a hug from a DD or DS, a lick and nuzzle from the poochie/kitty.... I know a good meow and zoomie morning makes my day, and that's how my day started today. I had a vocal and zoomzoomzoomie cat this morning, who wanted nothing more than to be chased around the house. A few coffees, a bouncy kitty, and my day started with a smile.

Way to go, Kellie, on your blood sugar this morning.  I took my blood sugar once when I had 'the shakes' because I was confident it was super low. Turns out it was very normal and made me wonder. I think it was all in my head. I haven't had the shakes in a while now and I am so happy for that! Keep up the good work, Kellie.

Today I expect NOTHING about the house, so if anything does happen, it should be a pleasant surprise. I took all the windows and doors and the roof off my Jeep Wrangler this morning and had a fantastic, brisk and breezy drive in this morning. I have to drive over Narragansett Bay to get to work every morning, and let me tell you, there is nothing, NOTHING like smelling the fresh, salty sea air first thing in the morning.  Getting smacked in the face with 10 degree cooler, briney winds that leave a tang on your lips that you can lick off until lunch..... mmm I love living in NE. (I know, I was complaining about it yesterday, but nothing cheers me up like a naked Jeep )

Anyhoo, I'm apparantly either too cheerful or too caffeinated!

Cardio - Hit the track

Food -
B - Protein Shake
S - Apple
L - Chicken Tikka Masala and some Naan from the supermarket
S - Some Chowda
