I have a question...I just cannot tolerate protein powder...how do you make protein shakes that hide the taste of that insidious stuff??

I tried a bunch of different ones before my surgery.  I found two that I really love - and doctor the heck out of them :)

My 'go to' is Jay Robb Vanilla Whey Protein powder.  I use that almost every day.  1 scoop of that with 8oz of soy milk.  To give it some 'extra taste', I add in 1T or so of a Torani Syrup.  I went through a gingerbread kick, now it's black cherry.  When I'm in a chocolate mood, I use the chocolate powder and add in peanut butter syrup, or coconut, mint is also good.  (I have a small collection of the Toranis!)

I also really like the GNC 100% Whey Protein  That one I prefer the chocolate caramel, mixed berry, and banana flavors.  I like that one because I can mix it with water, and it still tastes creamy and doesn't give you the funky whey aftertaste.

I find that LOTS of ice helps - keep it ice cold, and maybe toss it in the blender and it gets milkshakey.

Hope you find one that works for you - I'll gladly send you a sample of any one of them if you'd like to try it :) (Vitamin Shoppe sells single serving packets of the Jayrobb, not sure about GNC though)

Sorry I am new to this site. I have a suggestion have you tried unflavored protein powders?  I just found them (GNC sells Isopure unflavored).  I put it in my ice tea or my poweraid zero drinks. No taste at all. It makes the drinks a little cloudy but thats it.

GRRRRRRR The scales frowned this morning (& so did I LOL)

My leg/knee is better but still not strong enough to walk any distance or exercise.  So....of course, the scales are going to frown.  Don't have to like it, DO have to accept it.  I'm working on accepting it with style and grace - have a way to go with that.

So a good BOTT food day - and if the scales still frown tomorrow morning, I'm going back to liquids again.

Hey Happy, stop frowning and start smiling.  You know what you told me slow and steady.  You're just having a little setback by chance not choice.  Once you heal you'll be blazin'and burning up the trails again.
