Anyone ever done a cleanse?

I am searching online about 7 day cleanses.  I can't find any specific info about it and gastric bypass and was wondering if anyone has any info the can share.  I must admit I am just plain crazy and always want to be doing something different!  So a cleanse sounded interesting!!

I am also interested in doing a cleanse.  I am just beginning my research phase though; there doesn't seem to be a lot of information readily available for post-wls'ers out there.

My roommate is a raw-foodist who is doing the Master Cleanse (the lemon juice/maple syrup/cayenne thing).  I'm interested, but I can't find any modifications that include sugar reduction and protein supplementation for those of us who have had the RNY.

Any info would be appreciated... and I will pass along anything I find.  I just want to "reset" my system... I think it's more of a mental thing than a physical thing for me.

Hi, Jen.
From what I've read, a cleanse does little good, and can actually cause dehydration issues. You might want to ask your doctor, to make sure.

I have also heard the same thing, that the cleanse is unnecessary if you are eating enough fiber, etc.  Have you thought about trying probiotics?  I have started using them on a regular basis, and have noticed a change.

Best of luck with whatever you end up trying.  Please let us know how things go.

Well after a day playing around on the internet and looking at ingredients of many different cleanses I am going with "It is a waste of time"  I think I always knew that but agree that it is a mental thing.  I have done the 5 DPT before with great results so I think a week of tons of H2O, lots of good vitamins and fiber followed by a 5DPT is where I am headed......
But still interested in anything anyone finds out.  I am always willing and able to try anything once!!
