Back On Track Together
Friday Weigh-in
Ioinrc - 2lbs over a vacation week is so much better than I would have done in the past - it is really hard to be away from your normal routine and food choices - as long as you enjoyed yourself I'd call that a successful vacation - good job.
I hope everyone enjoys thier weekend!

Banded 9/12/2005 ~ Revision to VSG on 9/7/2010 ~ Losing again with a Keto lifestyle
Last week high ~ 215.4
Today's weight ~ 213.4
Down ~ 2 lbs
That is what I did to my scale when I stepped off this morning.
Lynn ~ awesome job on the drop this week.
Ioinrc ~ I agree with Lynn 2 lbs is WAY better than what we might have put on prior to surgery. Stay postitive, two is better than ten which is what mine would've been four years ago!!
Another week of seeing RED... the scale still is not my friend. Why even bother with bariatrics!!! My weight this week is 248.6... up another 2 lbs from last week. I added a second walk each day on my treadmill, started subsituting meals with protien shakes with skim milk and the pounds still creep on. I have emailed another bariatric surgeon... to see if I can get in for a second opinion. The less I eat & more I move doesn't make any difference at reversing my weight gains. Seeing RED and getting rather FRUSTRATED!!! All of you that have had losses keep my insentive up that there is still HOPE out there to be found.
Thought you might need that. Stay positive that the weight will start coming off. I had a problem with that all month last month. I was put on that "plateau busting diet" and it didn't help me. Then all of a sudden this week I had a 2-lb drop. Please post in the cafe and cardio and use a daily food tracker. There are sooo many to chose from online. I use the dailyplate from livestrong.com because I can adjust portions and track exercise easily. It gives me how many calories I need to consume to lose 2-lbs a week. What I do though is not increase my calories by how many I burn. For example, it says I should consume 1600 cals a day. If I walk/cycle and burn 400 cals then I'm around 1200 for the day. My goal is to be around the 1000 cal mark everyday with or without exercise. Also, I will enter my weight everyday so it adjusts my calories for the day. (A little obsessive compulsive, I know ).
If you're uping your workouts/activity you may be increasing your muscles which we all know means no weight-loss up front. Be careful that you're not throwing your body into a starvation mode by working out and not having the calories to go with it.
I would definitley follow-up with a different bariatric surgeon since your other one isn't listening to your concerns. The new one might be able to shed some light or have a nutritionist/PA that might be able to work with you on finding a plan that works. That's what my PA is doing for me. The nutriotionist's plan didn't work, so my PA is putting me on a version of the LapBand diet even though I had RNY.
Please stay postitive and post each time you feel the need or urge. We are here to support each other.
HI Michelle,
Thanks for the encouragement. After journaling, trying to count calories and the only result being the scale creeping up yet again is indeed frustrating. I've never used the daily food trackers and will admit I dont' have them figured out yet. I use the Protien Counter and the Calorie Fat & Carb Counter Books and try to do it all from scratch ...reading each and every label for everything I consume. My surgeon told me the only way to gain weight is consume to many calories over what I need in the day. How can my caloric intake be that much different then what it was ... I'm honestly not eating that much different than I was a month ago. Based on that theory (of my surgeon)... I can't be eating to few calories... I'm eating to many ...but again HOW??? My journaling is not showing major differences. I'm going to look up the tracker you mentioned and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for the support.

goodluck!
Thanks Jessica,
Pounds and inches sure can drive a woman crazy... I keep track of both my pounds and inches and have seen both increasing the past couple of months. My motto is drink , move and lose...but I havent' mastered the third premise of my equation yet...but will continue to try. Thanks for the support.
