Back On Track Together
New to Group - Saying HI!
Thank you - I never realized just how carb sensitive I am but now I'm starting to. It seems like even the smallest amount sets me up for wanting more and more - even if I'm not really hungry I still crave them and I don't have the strongest will power - the only way I'm OK is to avoid them all together. Problem being is my nut want's me to keep my carbs at no lower than 150 - I really don't know if I can let them get that high without losing control.

Welcome Lynn! I too love carbs too much. Am grateful to live alone so I can keep any trigger foods out of the house. Over the years, I have found there are many foods that I simply cannot have around. Prior to surgery once of those foods was cottage cheese. I would eat the whole carton but now it is my best friend and for some reason I don't feel the need to binge on it anymore. But definitely I do not keep potatoes, bread or any snack foods around. I do much better if I stick to protein and veggies. Recently I even decided I was overdosing on fresh fruit as it's all in season. Not that fruit is bad but I was not controllng my quantity very well. Grazing of course is an issue also. Best to limit to set meals and snacks per day. And of course exercise is so important. I seem to do well if I plan on an hour 6-7 days a week. I like the elliptical machine as I really work up a sweat. Also have just started with some weight machines again for about 1/2 hour three times a week in addition to the elliptical. Welcome again and look forward to hearing from you.

I love the elliptical so much I bought one for home but its just not the same as the big clunkers at the gym - I'm trying to head over daily for cardio and weights three times a week - I did well this week making it 3 times between Monday and Thursday.
I have a hubby and two teenage kids in the house and although they don't need the junk any more than I do its a losing battle to try and keep it out of the house. As long as I don't start in on it though I'm fine. Last night when we got back from the gym I made a quick tuna salad for dinner. Later hubby made himself a sundae and I went in the other room, relaxed with my book and a hot cup of wild cherry tea - he stayed in the kitchen and all was good.
My kids polished off all but the last two twizzlers that had been doing me in - I moved the bag out to the kitchen for them to finish off and the smell as it wafted from the bag almost did me in - but I was strong - I dropped the bag and ran!! LOL.
Thanks for the warm welcome!
