I tracked my food and the result is....help!
Ok, so i tracked my food on livestrong.com and done good. I put everything in and i am confused as to waht is good and bad.. This is the breakdown
So i stayed under 50 carbs and got 78 grams of protein.. i got less than 900 calories.. which all shound be good things right??? im confused as to what im doing wrong.

Just a thought, maybe your calorie count is too low. Our bodies will go into starvation mode and hang onto every calorie we eat if we are not getting enough. My nut suggested I eat 1200-1500 calories a day, broke into 6 small meals (200-300 Calories each) and lots of water. I may not be losing at lightening speed but I am learning better eating habits and I am losing an average of one pound a week.

Hilary - I agree with Jennifer that your calorie count may be too low. I was amazed when I was told I needed to eat more calorie so I would lose better (I'd never been told that before in my life LOL) but it worked. Go to Calorie Goal on your daily plate and let it figure the calories you need to consume to achieve your desired pounds per week loss. (Be realistic there - there's such a temtation to set it way too high - at least there was for me.)

Hilary - I chose to pick high protein/low carb foods that fit into my calorie limit. I really go almost exclusively by calories (with the high protein/low carb foods - my dr's nurse said not to watch the carbs so much as the sugars and not to eat any foods that have more than 16 grams of sugar per serving - though occasionally I will eat something one day that has a bit more and it seems to be working just fine for my body) Everyone's body is different so you will just have to keep track and notice what works best for your body. A word of warning - when you increase your calories, you may have a small gain at first - if that is going to freak you out, don't weigh for a month - give your body time to adjust to your new, healthier calorie intake.

Hilary - Here are some of the foods I use to add calories to get up to the amount I need to be eating. I know I have a problem with portion control - so even though it is a bit more expensive I buy individual serving packages when they are available - sometimes that means ordering on line. If you can manage weighing/measureing 1 serving from a larger quantity you'll be more likely to find the product in your grocery.
Health Valley Organic Double choc. chip chewy granola bar - 100 cal
Annie's Homegrown Cheddar bunnies - 1 pkg 140 cal
Annie's Homegrown choc. chip bunny grahams 130 cal
Broccoli cole slaw mix (in a bag 4 30z servings to a bag) - 30 oz/ 25 calories I use a calorie free, fat free, carb free dressing I order on line
Stella D'Oro Chocolate Breakfast Treats (don't limit eating these to breakfast) - 100 calories/bag and they come in a box with I don't remember how many individual serving bags in it
Laughing cow Lite spreadable cheese wednges (I like French Onion and Original Swiss but they come in other flavors as well) - 35 calories/wedge
Sugar free Jello - individual servings - 10 calories/serving
Sugar free Jell pudding - individual servings - 60 calories/serving
Hard boiled egg whites - 17 calories per 1 egg white - these are tricky for me Really have to take small bites and chew well or they stop up my opeining (and that HURTS!)
Kay's Natural Better Balance protein chips - these come in a bag, but beware each bag contains 1.5 servings. Chili Nacho - 110 calories/serving 165 calories/bag Crispy Parmesan 110 calories/serving 165 calories bag

No - sorry I don't know anything about those - but feel free to ask the person who;s eating them and I'm sure they can fill you in. A lot of the things I eat I get on line if I can't find them in stores. Do you have Publix (I lived and worked in Huntsville for about a year back in the mid-90's and thought they were teasing me when they said there were Piggly-Wiggly groceries there LOL) Here, Publix has the best selection of the items I eat - but even here, not all of the Publix near by (there are 3 that are quite handy for me to get to) stock all of the things I want - one does. Just turn into a label reader and figure out how it will fit in with what you like to eat and with your calorie limits. There is a brand of organic cookies (Country Choice) that fit just fine - but if I start eating them - LOOK OUT - I don't stop until I've eaten all nine in the package - so I don't go there LOL I do know that the Greek yogurt some people like so well is not available in my area and it can't be ordedred on line. But I'm sure you'll be able to find out about the pretzels if you just ask that person directly. Good luck
I get mine at Amazon. They are made by Kays Naturals. They also come in Cinnamon Toast (my personal fave, munching on some right now). I ordered some 2 weeks ago and they were $1.00/bag, 12 bags in a container. I also ordered Kays Protein Chips in Chili Nocho Cheese and Seapoint Farms Dry Roasted Edamame. All of them are great in numbers for carbs and protein. You can also check netrition.com, low-carb section for lots of great food ideas.
