Back On Track Together
Wednesday, BOTT Cafe & Cardio
Hi BOTTers,
I am committing here to all of you that I am going to work on my application to obtain my advanced credential for coaching. It is a huge, long application and the oral exam is quite daunting. I've had mentoring coaching with a high level coach (required for certification) and passed with flying colors over and above the minimum standards. However, that fear of failure exists!!! When I commit anything here with all of you whether it is my exercise and food, it takes on a deeper meaning for me.
I have taken extensive formal coach training from an accredited program through the International Coaching Federation (in the coaching profession the ICF is the equivalent to the ASMBS for bariatrics). I have taken specialty training courses such as addiction. I am not boasting here but merely stating (okay, possibly venting) what I've done. I've taken hundreds of coach training hours and participated in coaching groups. The reason I'm sharing this is because there are programs and members that pass themselves off as "certified life coaches" that are truly not. They take on the title or go through a lame program that calls them certified. Ask questions! Where is your certification from? Is it an ICF accredited program? Don't pay for services because of the title. Coaching is much more than cheerleading. Just because someone calls themselves a coach (or other title) doesn't make them so. This extends to coaching and other professions. Do you know that you can buy a title from a diploma mill even as a psychologist? Ask questions and do your homework.
Kathy S. is also a Bariatric University-Bariatric Coach. Kathy took formal coach training too. She went through the steps to obtain formal training. I am an instructor of coach training with Bariatric University. I was very honored to be her instructor and she is a gifted TRAINED coach.
Thanks for letting me be honest and open, and giving you the real deal of what is going on for me.
Here's my check-in for today:
CARDIO: Treadmill (need to work off some stress of my vent above)
FOOD:
Cottage cheese
Veggie strips
Cottage cheese
Southwestern Egg Beaters
Jalapeno Mustard Pretzels
Tilapia with green beans
Cinnamon Toast Pretzels
Power Crunch bar
Have a wonderful Wednesday as all of us BOTT!
Cathy

Why does fear of failure have to keep raising its ugly head I hate it when that happens (not of course that I know anything about this first hand LOL ) I haven't the slightest doubt that you will ace this process with flying colors Remember, you are a marvelous coach (I hereby certify you ) - now go for the "official" certification - yes, I know how you feel as psychologists can buy their diploma and that's just not right for patients!!! Have no fear about this - you are loved and treasured here yesterday - today - tomorrow - and forever - unconditionally Soothe yourself as you would soothe one of us.
Today the scales went down a teeny tiny bit (but, hey, down is down ) Im still in the 24.....BMI range. But by this time next week I hope I will be into the 23.....BMI range. Who knows what the scales will do????? What I do know is I had my BOTT plan and worked my plan - confortably I'm happy to say - yesterday and promise all of you I'll do the same today.
Enjoy the day and Jump for Joy Because You're You

Hi Cathy,
I thank you for this post!! I think most of us that experience weight gain is due to us not having dealt with our head/emotional issues that drive us to eat and gain weight.
Now is the time to get help and as you caution, we need to research before reaching out.......
Please reach out for help, and make sure that help is qualified to assist you with what is eating you as well as what you are eating!!!!
Take care,
Kathy

Cathy, thank you for all that you do here. If it wasn't for good, strong, "certified" coaches, I don't think we would be as successful in our journey to where we need to be and staying there.
Today, I'm kind of worried about being 100% BOTT. I'm going to the dr later this afternoon (which is throwing off my lunch and everything) to hopefully get my full release. I will be addressing the non-weightloss following the plateau busting diet the nutritionist gave me and her lack of following up with me like she said she would. , Grrr. I'm nervous that they will tell me the only option I have is to continue on the diet and exercise guidelines they have given me. Seeing the scale back bounce and forth 2-3 lbs is not very encouraging.
Cardio ~ Stationary Bike - 5 miles (20 mins)
Walking - 2 miles (40 mins) YAY cooler weather
Cafe:
B ~ Kashi GoLean Blueberry waffle & Starbucks (Liquid Happiness in a cup ) Cafe Mocha (1 pump, 5 shots espresso)
S ~ 2 slices Gouda cheese w/Kashi Asiago Crackers (6)
L ~ Protein Drink
S ~ Colby Jack Cheese w/Kashi Asiago Crackers (7)
D ~ 3 ozs Chicken Fajitas w/refried beans, cheese and low-carb tortilla
S ~ Protein Drink
