Thursday, BOTT Cafe & Cardio
I have a herniated disc in my neck that I've struggled with for quite awhile. I saw a neurosurgeon that told me my only option was spine surgery! No thanks. The odds are not great and the possible complications are too risky for me. So, I've had physical therapy, a series of epidural sterior injections and other alternative treatments to manage it. I'll spare you the details but I've kept it somewhat manageable but lately I have been in a lot of pain. There are mostly okay days but for awhile this has been hard. Obviously I have to take it easy and don't feel like being very active when I feel this way. Thanks for "listening" as it is hard for me to share but this is what is going on with me and I want to share the real deal with my BOTT friends.
CARDIO: Not today.
FOOD:
Cottage cheese
Veggie strips
Tilapia
Jalapeno Mustard Pretzels
Cottage cheese
Cinnamon Toast Pretzels
Southwestern Egg Beaters
Power Crunch bar

Hello everyone .... Good Morning,
Oh Cathy, I am so sorry that you are hurting. I also have a herniated disc,too in my neck. Not fun. I struggled also for many years with the pain. I see a chiropractor 3 times a week. Not only for the pain , but for overall wellness. He is also my nutritionist. When I get adjusted , It seems to relax the area. Good idea on going with physical therapy. I wouldn't want surgery, either. Feel Better Cathy.... hang in there. Let us know whats going on - give updates on hwo you are doing.
For my cardio - i will take the day off today because I was not feeling well yesterday. My cold is kicking my butt...coughing like crazy over here....ahhh... not good. i hate not getting in some kind of workout. But i will rest up so I won't get worse.....
My food for today:
B- 2 Ham roll ups with 4 honey dew cubes
S- protein shake
L- 3 chicken breast strips and 4 strawberries
S- protein shake
D-1 slice of corn beef ,5 baby carrots and some cabbage
S- protein shake

Cathy - I'm so sorry you're having health problems. Of course, you don't feel like being active - nor should you be active. Please do whatever's necessary to take the very best of care of yourself. Maybe, just maybe, this is God's way of slowing you down a little bit and forcing you to give yourself higher priority.
Well, today I'm up a little. Poor elimination, large dinner???? I really doesn't make any difference why - it just is. I know my exercise and food choices and amounts were good - so, I know I did my part and in the grand scheme of FOREVER, today's small gain is totally irrelevant. Now I just need to practice PATIENCE (as Lizzy reminded us we need to do) and it really isn't all that hard (really isn't all tha easy either LOL) when I keep my thinking straight. Just need to love me the way I am.
Today my promisse is that I'm going to keep on keeping on. It will be a 100% BOTT exercise and food day (think I may do my walking in the outlet mall after my fingernail appointment - with time allowed for renewing my black belt in shopping if I choose LOL)

I'm having another frustrating day with my scale not moving. I have decided that when I go back to the dr next week, we will have to discuss some other options for getting my "loss" starting again.
Cardio: Walking ~ 40 min (finally temps not in 100)
Cafe:
B: Protein drink & Kashi GoLean waffle
S: Apple & slice of gouda cheese
L: Santa Fe steakhouse (will make best decision when get there)
D: ??? maybe leftover tilapia
S: Protein drink
