Hi BOTTers,

I was so touched yesterday after seeing Michael Jackson's daughter speak up at his memorial.  He was so naturally gifted and talented yet led such a conflicted, tortured life.  Whatever we separately think about him, his daughter who had never been heard from was very moving in speaking about her daddy.  Whatever roles we hold in our life, that of being a parent or loving family member to a child is what matters.  I want to be a success in the various roles in my life but a true success is with those you love and matter most.

Here's my check-in for today:

CARDIO:  Treadmill

FOOD:

Cottage cheese
Vegetable strips
Green salad with turkey and light ranch dressing
2 whole grain Saltine crackers
Cinnamon Toast Pretzels
Tilipia with green beans
Power Crunch bar

Have a wonderful Wednesday as we BOTT!

Good Morning, I think you hit the nail on the head Cathy. I used to work myself to death and one day it finally occured to me that in 10 years my kids will not care about the material things we had because I worked overtime but would remember that I wasn't at home. So two years ago I took a job with a company that truly believes in family first and knows I am a mommy before an employee.

Todays check in:
Cardio: Treadmill
Food:
B-Low carb shell w/BBQ sauce, chicken & cheese
S-1/2 turkey sandwich & Babybel light
L-Sweet potato w/black beans & cheese
S-1/2 turkey sandwich & Babybel light
D-Turkey sloppy joe, broccoli w/hummus
S-Muscle Milk Light

1387 Calories, 126 Carbs (88 Net), 44 Fat, 121 Protein
The calories seem high to me but PMS stinks so I might even slip in a SF Toffee & Chocolate candy. Hope everyone has a happy hump day.

How lucky you are Jennifer to be able to do that - and, yes, it is our wifeing(such a word?) and/or parenting that is the most important thing we will ever do.  It's our reason to BOTT - to be as healthy as possible so we can maximize our longevity and be alive for those near and dear to us.

Had a small gain this morning but my body is telling me there is no doubt it is an elimination, not a consumption, problem.  So, I'm off and running on a 100% compliant BOTT day.

Hang in there happy, elimination problems are not fun. I think it is funny that my doc has me on 3 irons pills a day but has me also taking Myralax to conteract the problems with the iron pills. Have a great BOTT day!

Jennifer, did you know there is an iron pill called Ferro-Sequals, that is less constipating than regular iron pills?  That's what my surgeon has me take when my iron gets low.

Hello BOTT,

Feeling much better about myself today.  I emailed my Nutritionist the other day about concerns I had pertaining to fat and fiber intake.  She called me today and I have an appointment to see her next week.  Since I already log my food in Calorie King I will be able to take my meal plans to show her whats been going on with me.  The good, the bad, and the ugly.

I was unable to watch the Memorial Service for Michael yesterday because I had to be at work early...I worked a double shift they were concerned about the call volume so I watched it today. So sad, I found myself filled with sadness for him and his family.

Cardio:  No cardio today - resting up from double shift

FOOD:

B - Spinach Omelet w/ pepper jack cheese
S -  EAS Chocolate Protein Shake
L -  Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad w/ LF Italian Dressing
S -  (6) Meatballs (they were suppose to go in the cottage cheese but I started tasting and they never made it)
D -  (2) Turkey Bacon w/ Spinach Quiche
S -   Cottage Cheese w/ Strawberry Jam (maybe)?

Calories  1070  Fat 45.3g  Fiber 8.8g
Carbs 54.7g  Protein  103.4g

I would say this has been a good day!

I'm watching MeltingMama's voyage with the Focus 28 bootcamp with interest.  I've been comparing some of their items to some of the things I already have too many of (RTD protein, bars, etc.) and think I'm going to start the plan after my company (BLEECH!) leaves.

Anyhoo...

PreWalk:  Vitatop and coffee
POWERWALK:  30 minutes
Brkfst:  CarbMaster Yogurt, 1/2 c. blueberries, 1/4C. Fiber One
Snack:  Atkins Mudslide Bar
Lunch:  turkey, swiss, avocado wrap on low carb tortilla
Dinner:  (Outback)  tried their new tilapia with crab stuffing (dry, stuffing was GREEN, waitress said it was chives and celery...I think it was avocado or pesto!!!!  Most of it is in a take-out box in the fridge on its way to the trash.)  The veggies were good!
Snack:  Smart Pop 100 calorie bag and Isopure Grape mixed with Diet Oceanspray Promegrante.
