Back On Track Together
Day 5 of liquid diet and not hungry at all!
Quick intro for those who haven't read my previous posts. I regained 80 of the 110 lbs I lost from my RNY, which was 7 years ago. I wanted a revision, but don't need it as my pouch is still intact. So, I am following a liquid diet plan at the suggestion of my surgeon until the regain is off.
Today was my 5th day on liquids (3 protein shakes and 1 cup of cottage cheese). My hunger is non existant and I can feel my pouch getting smaller each day. In the beginning, I could eat a cup of cottage cheese at one sitting and drink all 3 protein shakes (12 oz.) with ease. Last night and again today I could not the entire cup of cottage cheese. I am not feeling true hunger and only drinking all 3 shakes because I know I have to meet the minimum protein requirement. I do like to have a cup of coffee in the morning and a cup of decaf at night, plus the occasional serving of sugar free jello or a sugar free popsicle. It's really only for the taste and the idea of having something though. I really am amazed that I feel no physical hunger. I do get weak and kind of shaky if I wait to long in the morning to have protein. I need to have it first thing before the coffee, but I get busy and forget. It isn't bothering me at all to cook for my family and I sit with them and have my shake or cottage cheese. So far, so good!
I also weighed myself yesterday just to see how things are going. I don't have a scale at home, but there's one at my gym. Yesterday, which was day 4 of liquids, I had lost 7 lbs. Long way to go, but I'm on the right track.
