High Blood Sugar after Strenuous Exercise?

Hey gang,
I checked my bs before my hour on the elliptical and it was 123, Now it was 200. Really freaked me out. I feel fine but am afraid its gonna do a drastic drop. I am not hungry so gonna get ready for work and see how it is then. Probably have a protein shake at that time. I also did 15 minutes of weights. Usually I don't see such a drastic rise... maybe being more strenuous than usual?
Anyone know anything? Thanks, Lucy

Hi Lucy,

i don't know the answwer to this and why this is happening. It might be being more strenuous than usual. Do you eat before you workout? If you don't , you should eat even though you are not hungry. You need enegry to burn. If you have nothing in your body, this might happen. So, eat.......give your body the enegry it needs to take you throughout your workouts. Then after eating , wait for 1 hour and then workout......Make sure you drink your water also DURING your workouts. the last couple of minutes before your workout ends.... stop drinking your water, go take your shower , then eat again. This might help you if you eat before , drinking your water during your workouts and after , eat something again. Still ,I'm not sure why this is happening...... however , i searched in google for you. Click here.  I hope you get this under control soon. Follow up with your surgeon/nutritionist and see what they say.

Thanks for the reply and google info... think I might have just been freaking myself out this morning. Usually it's ok but I did work harder than usual. Will keep an eye on it and be sure to have enough to eat and not overdo the workout.
