Hey Botts,

Happy Friday....

As I celebrated my birthday yesterday it ws one of great reflection.  It was 5 years ago that my PCP told me if I didn't lose this weight I would be dead in 5 years. Imagine having both parents pass away in their early 50's and be 48 and told that.  Death was knocking on my door and he had my name on his list..........

We can live to be in our 80's now adays and to pass now I would miss my son's accomplishments, getting married, grandbabies just to name of few.  I know being dead, I may not know the effect my death would have on my loved ones, but the ones we leave behind do.  My son has told me time and again he missed having that grandparent/grandchild relationship I had as a child.

So as we struggle to Get Back On Track, ask yourself, am I ready to say goodbye?  Is my family ready to be without me?  Is my job/'purpose here done?  My guess is the answered were no, no, and no.....

So celebate life to the fullest, with good health by losing and or keeping the weight off, and let's hope we have many more years to come....

Take care,
Kathy

Happy Birthday Kathy

thank you for posting this.  It has served as a reminder to me why losing weight was so important. And for me (as I'm sure for most of us) it wasn't cosmetic, it was to reclaim my health.  I want to be around to watch my daughter grow up.

I need to remember this as I reach for something that isn't helping me.

Kathy, My cardiologist is the one *****commended RNY to me. I was 51 then. When I went back to him last year for my check up I had just turned 55. He said oh I see you had a birthday. I didn't think you would see 55. I am now proud of my age.and that I am still living. Good post ! See you lighter. Joanne
