Thursday, BOTT Cafe & Cardio

Hi BOTTers,

I'm having a hard time getting motivated to exercise.  I'm in a lull funk with exercise.  I prefer to walk outside but with the heat index approaching 100, not for me.  I wish I had a burning desire to exercise but I don't and, unfortunately, never have.  I do it because I know it is a key component to health and weight loss/maintenance.  From being post-op as long as I am, I know that it will pass but I'm just low in the motivation for exercising.  How do you stay motivated?

Here's my check in:

CARDIO:  Walk & kick dvd

FOOD:

Cottage cheese
Bell pepper strips
Morningstar soy sausages (3)
Tilipia with green beans
Cinnamon Toast Pretzels
Cottage cheese
String cheese
Power Crunch bars

Have a terrific Thursday as we BOTT!

Exercise motivation? Whats that? I wish there was a pill you could take for motivation. Unfortunately it has to come from yourself. Motivation speeches, tapes or quotes work for the short term but for long term results it takes a shift in attitude. At this present time I have not found the answer for my long term motivation. I like you force myself to do things because I know I have to. My issue is that I can easily talk myself out of exercising. I guess for now I will follow Nikes slogan and "just do it."

Exercise: working in the yard

B: left over Brat sandwich
S: protien shake
L: Turkey sandwich
D: Egg and ham casserole
S: Protien shake

Vits and 150 water

Have a great BOTT day

Its both good and sad to hear that we're all struggling with motivation. I have found a somewhat stimulating way to keep motivated, its numbers on my pedometer. Seeing those numbers go up by doing a few extra laps around work when I get up, instead of bee-lining where I need to go... its kind of refreshing. And 2 laps around the neighborhood after work and blammo. 10,000 already? They're cheap, give it a try one time.

Cardio - sore from gym, so goal is just to hit 10,000 steps.

Food -

B - extra small slice of SF chocolate, chocolate chip sinfulness (cake, but low cal.)
S - 8 water crackers and Brie
L - Ethnic Quesine chicken tikka masala and 1/2 Naan (seriously, this is under 300 cal!?)
S - Raw trail mix and seapoint edamame
D - Stuffed pepper stuffing and stir fry pepper strips (takes way less time, tastes just as good!)
S - crustless veggie quiches

Like you, staying motivated is a challenge, especially when the weather isn't cooperating (we don't have the heat you have...we are experiencing what seems to be Seattle's normal weather...wet, wet, wet!).  I am in a bit of a funk myself, but know that I have to change that.  I have a few plans in place for myself following a wedding I am attending out of state...and I am going to find ways to make myself accountable.

Food:

Mixed cheese quesadilla
Salad
Soup
Greek yogurt w/Go Lean cereal and ground flax
Mock rice pudding
Two (2) protein drinks

Have a great day, all!  :)

Hi!
I can never win, I'm usually on at 5:00 a.m. and don't post because it's too early.  By the time I remember, it's always late... and I can't remember what I ate!  I was having a problem with motivation until I got a BodyBugg.  It's great!  It helps you stay on track and get you trying to meet to your exercise goal.  The folks on the Biggest Loser have them.  That's where we found out about them.  They are kinda expensive, but I heard that there are other products that track the same info.  My food for today...
Breakfast - Lean dessert protein drink
Snack - strawberries w/ healthy life toast
Lunch - celery w/pb2, cheese and ham roll
Snack - protein bar
Dinner - Lean dessert protein drink, grapes and cheese
Snack - fage w/sf caramel
Have a good one!
