I have had a horrible month, and finally was given some advice that I really needed to put protien first so that I could start to rediscover my pouch. I was told to do something like atkins phase one untill I was firmily back on track. I have been doing it for two days now, and WOW! Thatas all I can say. I really didn't realize how much I had gottten into a habbit of eating slider foods. i kind of thought I had just destroyed my pouch, but it is telling me loudly and clearly that it is still here. I actually had the foamies this mroning. I havn't had that problem since six months out. LOL To have fullness again is great.

Hmmm, funnily enough Protein really is the answer.

It is so nice to discover it still works. I did order steak, baked pot and salad for lunch from a carry out place then in the name of "mindful" eating nicely arranged half of it on a real plate at work, sat down AT A TABLE, WITH SILVERWARE... really bothered to treat myself to a decent meal in a relaxed, nurturing manner... and guess what I was really full on half of what I put on my plate so essentially this was four meals out of one that would have been a "snack" to me prior to surgery. It was really cool to realize how the pouch still works and what a huge problem grazing and slider foods are for me. TA DA moment.... LO

way to stick to your food plan. Yep rediscovering that my pouch works very well has given me motivation to stay with more dense sources of protein.

We all need to rediscover that the pouch and rules still work when we allow them too. Thanks for the reminder.

Great to hear.  Can you talk more about exactly what you've done?  I'm struggling horribly and don't know where to begin.  I'm no longer even convinced that I had gastric bypass because there is no sign of a puch these days!  I'm 3/12 years out.  I lost about 110 pounds very quickly.  Was still about 20 pounds away from goal weight.  Got pregnant 18 months out and gained rapidly during the pregnancy.  My son just turned 1 and I have 25 pounds of weight lingering.  I feel awful about myself.  Still considerably less than when I had the surgery but it doesn't matter because I'm not happy at this weight.  I don't even know where to begin.  I eat too much and too often!  I've thought about the 5 day pouch test but I can't seem to get trhough the 1st 2 days of protein shakes only.  I gag to even think of them.  Any advice would be great- I just want to get back on track.
Thanks-
Kara
