Back On Track Together

Going to any means

I believe that is a twelve step motto I picked up and don't think they really meant it for what I did last night. Every so often I go through my cupboards and dispose of anything that might get me off track. I am such a compulsive overeater that this can include flour and shortening as I like to bake.  So instead of just giving the ingredients to a friend that understands me I baked a huge batch of +++++++. Then at about midnight I drove to the homeless shelter and put it on their doorstep. Who knows if anyone will actually eat it. May be some crazy person poisoning people but at least I won't have to throw it away or shove it in my mouth. Now I still have a partial bottle of Karo syrup I need to do something with. Shoved away in a high cupboard its probably ok BUT I know it's there. This is how low I can go folks...So far this morning I had 1/4 c. oatmeal with 1/4 banana, artificial sweetener and 1 T PB2. Since I was wacky last night and didn't go to bed until well after midnight I did not get up early and exercise before work. Hopefully tonight. The rain continues here for what feels like 3 weeks. It is dampening my spirits but I am trying to push through it and likening it to my battle. It's always darkest before the dawn!

You can always pour salt and/or pepper into your Karo syrup - I've found that to be a very effective way not to eat something that's calling my name - and it's rreversible so I cannot change my mind 5 seconds later.

What a GREAT way to deal with those crazy cravings.  I too love to bake, so am tempted even by flour, etc as I think of all the 'yummy' things I can make with it.

This way, others benefit from your wise choices.  Good for you, well done.  There is much to learn from your actions.  Thank you for sharing.
