Back On Track Together
feel like have found a home!
Oh my gosh! I am so glad i have found you all. I have felt all alone for the past 4 yrs since my Dr. passed away. I hope some of you have had the same surgery i did, bpd. 6 yrs out 200 lbs down i am at 212. I have had a weight gain the past 3 months was at 199. need desperately to get back in the groove and don't gain back anymore but lose some more. i wanted to get down to 170 and i don't know what is the best way to go. Please help me. Any help would be a blessing. i have lost faith in myself and feel like i have let myself down. hope someone out there has gone through the same thing and came out on top. thanks for listening. Gina

Hi Gina, we have ALL been there. I had RnY about 3 1/2 years ago and lost about 175lbs in the first 1 1/2 years. After that I got off track and stalled for the last 1 1/2 years. Since finding this group I have lost 25 more pounds. I have had my ups and downs since joining but the people here are amazing. The advice and support here is like nowhere else I've found. Use the board and your tool to get Back On Track. I look forward to reading about your success.

Welcome Gina! I can't remember what the bpd surgery stands for. I had the open rny. YOu are definitely not alone in your feelings. I am not in the best place right now but at least I am out of the "denial" phase. Becoming more aware of what's going on in my life and what is going into my mouth! Just not willing to let go of it all yet.
bpd stands for biliopancreatic diversion. well on Monday I'm going to start back on track. need to buy some protein powder. do you use it still? what kind? i want so much to feel like a winner again not someone who has lost or has given up. seems like i have come so far and go through so much everyday with the bathroom issues and the dumping i dint want to feel this way anymore. thanks for writing me back! I really appreciate it, you dint know how much. thanks a million Gina

Hi,
I have used protein off and on over the last 6 years. Found Bariatriceating.com
to be one of the best sites to order from. They have vitamins and other items too.
I have used Matrix, (you can make hot chocolate out of it in winter) Whey Gourmet, and Elite.
I just bought Inspire but have not tried it yet. Also some from the Melaleuca Co. From Walmart I just get the Adkins Advantage shakes. Slimfast has too many carbs/sugars for me. One I just discovered that another lady on here uses is an expresso flavor called Click and is available from Click.com. She also uses PowerCrunch bars but they are almost too tasty and I am afraid I would overdo on those. Most things are available online and you can just google to find the site.
Hope this helps. Some brands I like are no longer made, or I have forgetten the name, or they call it something else. The quality has improved so much over the years. I remember it all tasted pretty nasty to me early on.
