I've been on a plateau for months. Gaining and losing the same 5-7 lbs over and over again with no break through to a new weight loss.  I had my gastric bypass in 8/2007 and have been stuck for months with no loss... the suggestions on my diet are this:

Three meals a day: Breakfast , Lunch and Dinner
Two snacks only if absolutely hungry.
Meals are to be 15 grams protien, 300 calories each. The total fat grams for the entire day are 30g with a caloric total for the day of 1200.
I need to drink 48-64 oz of water per day.
Take four Optisource and two caltrate with D.
I am not to use any protien bars or protein drinks between meals... just as a meal replacement if I choose to do that in place of a meal.

The nutritionalist felt I may be getting to many additional calories by adding protein EAS shakes between meals to boost my protien levels. I'm going to keep journaling and try this . The last change she made was not to drink 1/2 hour before and now 1 hour after meals(rather than the 1/2 hour I'd been doing all along) . Wish me luck.

Thanks for sharing your info. I need to really stick to meal times and watch the water drinking during meals.

You're welcome. On a side note... I tried your idea of strawberries, cottage cheese and flaxmeal...yummy!!! That extra nutty zip was wonderful.

Kathy, that sounds YUMMY to. Did you use frozen Strawberrys? Oh and what was the extra nutty zip, the flaxmeal?

I hope this change will help kick start your loss.  It is so frustrating when you know you are doing right and still keep the yoyo thing going on.

Fingers crossed for you that the yoyo stick to the floor (iygwim!??)  This plan sounds very similar to the one I've put myself on a few weeks ago, although I'm using drinks as meal replacements for breakfast and lunch then having a small dinner.  It seems to be working for me - I find I snack less during the day this way - I'm better with strict boundaries.

I'm sure you don't need luck - you are going to do just fine.

Thanks for your vote of confidence on this yo-yo-rollercoaster ride that I've been on trying to lose a pound or two ;-).  I'm journaling and will let you know how things go at our friday weigh-in.

It has been a much better week for me since my recent challenges with sugar and not following the rules. I too have tried to focus on the basics and this has made a huge difference in my attitude and weight maintenance. I walked at least once if not twice each day, concentrated on eating protein first followed by healthy veggies and drank lots of fluids. The weight is coming down again. Reading posts from other people on Obesityhelp has been really important to keeping this WLS  journey in perspective. Thank goodness for OH and BOTT!!!! Working the basics and changing activity level has helped. Finding the balance can be challenging but with so many people on here with a wealth of personal experience, you are sure to find some advice that clicks with you and you will get through whatever challenge you might be facing at the time! Good luck!  Tanya

Thanks for the support Tanya. Getting back to the basics can be a reality check indeed. I've been enjoying my treadmill each day. On a suggestion from this site... I bought the book the Beck Diet Solution and have been enjoying engaging in the thought processes trying to think "like a thin person"... geez... it seems so unattainable at times. It's great people like you as we Bott Together that can make my dream a reality. Thanks again ... Kathy
