Friday - BOTT Cafe & Cardio

HI BOTTers,

Last Saturday we took my laptop to the "doctor" because it was running slow, it won't back up to my external hard drive and doing strange things.  It turns out my hard drive is on its way to crashing.  So, we're taking it in this evening after work to be switched out and cloned.  I despise computer issues.  I hope it goes smoothly.  My life is on my laptop!!

I am going to post the Saturday C&C sometime this afternoon.  They hope to have it back to me on Saturday.  If you don't see me post on Sunday, you'll know why.  I'll be back to my BOTT friends and board ASAP!!

The Curse of the Computer strikes again     I am old enough to remember when this absolutely amazing machine came out - it was called The Electric Typewriter and you didn't have to pound the keys!  Also remember wehn "cut and paste" meant cut with scissors and paste with paste.  My boss on my first job was doing a Masters dissertation and met with her dissertaion professor every week - she would then come back to the office and I would retype her whole dissertaion because the professor had had her make some rather minor change on one of the early pages which threw all the rest of the pages off.  Am SO GLAD that was in the past when I was doing my doctoral dissertaion but our wretched machines can wreak havoc as well at times.  I feel for you Cathy 

The stranges thing seems to be happening - since I promised my dr's nurse I would not weigh for 6 weeks (that's June 1 - but who's counting LOL) I've been keenly aware of my size.  Monday night I did a brisk 30 minutes on the WiiFit Free Step game.  Tuesday morning I could wear my button-waist slacks.  Tuesday & Wednesday nights I did not.  Yesterday I could (and did) still wear my button-waist slacks but they were a bit tighter than they were Tuesday.  Last night I did another brisk 30 minutes (though not quite as brisk as before) and this morning my slacks fit like they did Tuesday.  I can even feel the difference in my body size when I am in bed after exercising.  Is this just my angels knowing how to get me to exercise or is there a physiological explanation?  Needless to say - I'm strongly motivated to whip out the old Wii and go for it     My caloric intake stayed the same.

  My hope is that this phenomenon keeps going and going and going - like the Energizer Bunny.   My secret hope is that on June 1 when I weigh, I will be below my goal weight even.  Wouldn't that be grand !!!!!!

Oh yes, to the reason for this thread - I commit to a BOTT food & exercise day.  My friend's teenage daughter is coming by tonight to teach me how to use my DDR game.  The only time I've tried it, all I managed to do was stand in the center of the mat and wonder what in the world I was supposed to do LOL  Don't think I burned very many calories that way (wonder how many calories one burns being totally confused and overwhelmed???? )

Mornin all! Its a bit cool and wet today but I'm making a new effort to walk the track here at work a few times a day. I never usually take a lunch at all, so I think I'll be spending it walking from now on. I hope the extra cardio every day helps.

Food -

Early morning - 1/2 cup Kashi cereal, 1/4 cut milk
B - Half a subway steak n cheese omlette flatbread
L - Other half
S - Chicken
D - Not sure, babysitting tonight, so whatever the kids ask for.

B: Protein Shake
S:Weight control oatmeal, w/extra protein and some sliced strawberries
L: Soy "chicken," Salad, and some canned mixed fruit
S. Small salad w/ 1-2oz chicken, salsa for dressing
D: Ginger chicken stirfry, or leftovers if I don't feel like cooking
S: Glass of milk, 1 string cheese stick, cauliflower w/ dip, and a few walnuts

I haven't worked out ANY this week, because I've been having pain in my neck muscles   running down by back   I WILL get back on track with it next week  I HOPE.
