Who's a bigger Geek n me?

Just doin a geek check out there in BOTT land. I'm bored at work and came across a Ren Faire forum on OH and skweed... but then was very sad to find the most recent posts were in 2007.  Where are my fellow geeks! There must be some out there BOTTing with us! Who likes Ren Faires? Who games? Who LARPS? SCA? I know you're out there, somewhere. Come chat! 

I myself am a regular Cast member at a LARP in CT, 6 events a year, 3 day weekend events. Fan-fricken-tastic. I also go annually to King Richard's Faire in MA. I'm so geeky, my wedding was Medival Celtic themed, and all the men were wearing kilts and all the women were wearing gowns. My wedding dress was styled after Eowyn's pretty white dress in Lord of the Rings, Two Towers when she's being all sad about her cousin's death and the flag flies away in the wind... oooh yeah. Gorgeous.

I cant' say that I'm a geek as for some parts of your post it reads like another language to me!!  BUT...your wedding theme sounds wonderful - do you have pictures?  I love the style of Lord of the Rings - hey maybe I'm a Ren Faire geel in the making???

 LARP stands for Live Action Role Play. Basically you get into garb (costume), take on a persona, and imerse yourself in a pretend world for a weekend when anything and everything can happen. The game I play is called Mythical Journeys, www.mythicaljourneys.com You can make a login for free and check out some pictures and things. If you do, I will be GLAD to show you some pictures of me in the heart and soul of being geeky.

Gaming in general I mean PC games, video consoles, or even Table Top Role Play (think Dungeons and Dragons, but there are so many much better games out there).

I attend many a Ren Faire every year! It is just a blast.

SCA stands for the Society of Creative Anacronisms. They have big big camping fests with competitions, story telling, general hanging out, great food, vendors.... its like a Faire but only SCA members can attend (with their guests).

I was just looking at my clothes from ALEP hanging in my closet and thinking I really want to add some braid and bells to my Elvish dress.  Geeky?  Oh my!  I've got a sword, and a dagger, and a bow.

I even write LOTR fiction.

Hehe, Greetings, fellow Geek! Just one sword? I have 3, a battle axe, several daggers, and SEVERAL replica/decoration weapons. My husband keeps them down in his "man town" in the basement. I do wish I had a good bow, tho. I miss archery.

So glad to find some of the geeks out there!!

Oh, see now I really want to move back to the US so I can join up.  We don't have anything like that over here (as far as I know!).  I would have to be a cyber member.
