Wednesday, BOTT Cafe & Cardio

Hi BOTTers,

On Friday we had 13 tornados and we're in for some more wild weather late this afternoon and evening.  The flip side of the wild weather is that it is so beautiful outside with all the trees full and lush, flowers in beautiful colors and blooming and I have all sorts of birds at our bird feeder all day long.  I love talking walks outside this time of year when it is not hot and humid yet it is just gorgeous and inspiring to be outside.

I found a new treat - Kay's Natural's Jalapeno Mustard Pretzels.  I'm more of a sweet tasting person but I'm going to try them today.  I ate one last night from my husband's portion and they were good.  I don't think they'll replace my Cinnamon Toast Pretzel favorite but they will be a nice option.

Here's my check-in:

CARDIO - Day off

FOOD:

B - Cottage cheese
S - String cheese
L - Turkey salad with pepper jack cheese
S - Jalapeno Mustard Pretzels
D - Fish and vegetables with garlic toast
S - Power Crunch bar

Have a wonderful Wednesday as we BOTT!

Cathy

Finally got to they gym today and put some of Kathy's suggestions into play. No cardio, but lots of lifting over 1/2 hour. I feel pretty good. Also am aiming for heavy protein diet again. Not as heavy as when forcing myself into ketosis, but I did go buy a roasted chicken from the market this morning to snack on all day.

Food -

B - Breakfast burrito (egg, ham, cheese, joseph's flax wrap)
S - Chicken and dressing
L - Turkey chilli?
S - Chicken and dressing
D- Chicken n stir fry veggies.

Good Morning! I have a birthday party tonight for a dear friend so I included two glasses of wine in my daily total, 1-1.5 is usually plenty but I would rather over estimate on the calories.

Cardio: Walking on break at work
Food:

B-1/2 of a Scotch Egg
S-Dry Roasted Edamame
L-Turkey Chili
S-Light String Cheese & Almonds
D-Chicken Sausage & Spinach dip
S-Wine

1551 Calories, 82 Carbs (65 Net), 66 Fat, 117 Protein

I know wine is not a snack but I didn't know where else to put it and it needs to be listed if I drink it. I hope everyone has a fantastic day and life is treating you right!

Checking In -
Yesterday didn't go quite as planned, but was a good day none the less.  My food was perfect  Was thrown off just a bit when I discovered I had grossly miscalulated one of my favorite foods - it actually was a bit more than twice the calories I believed it to be.   but, I'm happy to say, I handled it without belittling my self and therefore didn't feel a need to self-soothe with food - and that's real PROGRESS for me

But I guess eating more calories hasn't resulted in a weight gain as I was so scared it would because this morning I got my reward - was able to wear my button-waist slacks - they are quite snug, but not the least uncomfortable.  Other than for a few days since I've been a BOTTer, I haven't been able to wear them for months and months.

What didn't go as planned yesterday was my exercise.  I spent so much time setting up and navigating the mydealyplate site (thanks so much for that suggestion!) it was past my bed time before I even had a chance (read :"made a chance") to exercise.  I did climb 5 flights of stairs and walk briskly when I walked from point A to point B but did not do any WiiFit exercise or barbells.  Plan to eat 1000 cal/60-70 g protein today.  Haven't worked out what that will be for dinner - but it will not exceed those guidelines.  Thank you so much for being the wind beneath my sails!

Congrats on getting past your miscalculation!  It's good to accept it and move on!

Why does it take us so long to get to this point?      We wouldn't think of beating up on anyone else like that and yet we do it to ourselves over and over and over - I feel as though I took a GIANT step forward!!!  Thanks for caring
