I had said a few days ago I wanted to try the 5dpt again but not wiling yet today. I do feel capable of committing my food plan for the day so here goes. I know I need to focus on not grazing so plan on eating no less than three hours apart. Orange slices if I feel blood sugar dropping. Approx. 1200 cal.

Protein shake
cottage cheese
orange
Chicken and Broccoi
shake
High fiber cereal and milk

At least 64 oz water and a half hour walk. Try to turn around my negative thoughts, think about goals and rewards, enjoy the beauty of nature, have coffee with lady friends, start a bedtime ritual again. Hope you all have a good day!

You are going in the right direction!
I am half-way through reading the Beck Diet Solution and am finding some great ideas for myself.  One that I really try to do is to think through my cravings and giving myself credit for achieving different goals.  No negative thoughts!
Keep it going!

Hi Deb,
You mentioned you're reading the Beck Diet Solution. I'm not familiar with that read but see a lot of our members here have or are reading it. Is this written by someone that had bariatric surgery? What can you tell me about the book? Look forward to your reply.
Thanks,
Kathy

Can I give you my interpretation?

Well... rather than telling you how to diet it really tells your HEAD how to think. It was great....

The very very first task was to write down all the reasons you want to lose weight and keep it with you... read it twice a day at certain intervals.... I'm like... "I can do this in my head!... NEXT!"

I turn the page... and it says, "so you think you can just do it in your head, do you?".....

I was so turned onto the book from there.

Go get a copy. Its fun, if anything, and offers great advice.

Hi Kathy,
I think that it's a very interesting book.  I got mine from the library.  It's written by a psychologist who has gathered data from her many patients.  There are daily tasks that you need to do to get you through cravings and urges to eat.  It's given me a different way to look at things.  Some things may sound silly but given the fact that we are all here for the same reason, it's worth a try.

I'm assuming the author's name is Beck.  Right?

The Beck Diet Solution by Judith S. Beck, Ph.D.

It's excellent.  It is not aimed at bariatric patients; it's just a book about training yourself to think & behave like a normal-weight person when it comes to food, cravings, bad habits, etc.

Always,
Jo
