Biggest Loser anyone?

These people are amazing to me!  Tara is the bomb!  She looks incredible.  When they ran the marathon tis week I actually started crying.  I guess the only thing that concerns me is that this makes some people think that in 20 weeks they can also lose up to 100 lbs!  One episode at the begginning of this season they actually showed the training room with all the contestants packed in ice and gets physical therapy.  But I still love it!!!

Yeah I'm not a big 'reality TV' fan... I think it exploits people too much.  Most of them simply edit to tell whatever story the producer feels like telling. You'd be surprised how a little editing can turn the most virtuous hero into a villain.

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am a Biggest Loser addict. I agree Tara is the bomb and should win. She has worked hard and never played games the entire season.

While we enjoy watching the Biggest Loser too, I watch with a somewhat heavy heart since many if not most of these individuals will gain back a portion of or all of their lost weight within the next five years because as all of us can attest, it is a change in thought and action each day that matters rather than a quick focused approach that not one of the people on the Biggest Loser can keep up for every day of the rest of their lives. It is encouraging to see their self esteem increase though and hopefully, they will make changes when they return home. I don't want to be discouraging, but it is a long, continuing journey.

Remember also that for the show which is revealed in the shows book, that these contestants are up early and exercising 6 to 10 hours each day with little breaks. I can atest as a RNYer, I lost quite a bit. But once I got back into the Real World getting out of the exercise routine I put weight back on. Thus I recently placed the Realize Band on. And I'm walking. And in three more weeks, as the schools break for the Summer my intent is to get back to exercising at least 6 hours each day.

Maybe we all should apply to be on a season where everyone has had a form of Weight Loss Surgery!

Open RNY 5/10/06 and now
Laparoscopic Realize Banding. 4/21/09
