Craving carbs and sweetness... any suggestions???
Hi Everyone,
Well I've upped my water intake to 64 oz per day. I've cut my carbs back to a total of 5-6 servings for the day. I want chocolate or something sweet... and nothing seems to be satisfying me. Any ideas as to how not to give in to this craving? Any tricks to proving it's only mind over matter?

SF Fudgicles, and sometimes... if your will power can take it, its okay to have like 1 fun size hershey or a kiss or something to stem the tide. You could go for chocolate flavored protein shakes. EAS makes a Carb Control shake that is low cal, extremely low carb, but the flavor is spot on. Green Mountain makes a hot cocoa with only 40 calories and like 10 carbs. And its delish also. Super dark chocolate is much better for you, it has omegas, little sugar added and is lower in carbs.
Hope that helps!

ooohhh I like the idea of the SF Fudgepops... that sounds rather refreshing. The mini hershey candies I've tried... even freezing them and I just cant' be trusted around them... to yummy and tempting for me. I have the EAS and make frozen treats out of it...but again... just not satisfying to me. I'll have to lokk up that Green Mountain cocoa as it sounds really like a treat. Thanks for sharing.
Had another idea.... how about SF NesQuick or chocolate syrup in milk? That nostalgic flavor can really be a good help.

Are the chocolate calcium tablets ... citrate or carbonate? My surgeon wants me taking the calcium citrate with vitamin D. I've never seen it in chocolate ....but you've got my curiosity peaked. Flavoring my calcium supplement would be super!!! As for controlling my thinking... well that's a whole other subject... smile. Thanks for your help :-).
They are Calcium Citrate - they have 100 IU of Vitamin D3 (as Cholecalciferol) I order them on line from Bariatric Advantage (bariatricadvantage.com) They have no calories, 1 g carbohydrate and 20mcg of Vitamin K (as Phytonadione) and 11 mg of Magnesium The directions are to Place tablet in mouth and allow to slowly dissove - I just chew them up.
Hi HappyLBer,
Like you, I've been a Bariatric Advantage chocolate calcium chewables for years. I did a wild and crazy thing and ordered their new chocolate calcium chews. YUM, YUM! I used to use the chocolate chewables as a treat too - sometime they nipped the craving and other times no way. These calcium chews are great. My husband even likes them.
I'm on their auto order of my vitamins and I'm going to get a mix of the chocolate chewables AND the chocolate chews. I received an e-mail saying they are allowing preorders of the lemon chews. I'm sticking with the chocolate chews. I actually look forward to them.
Take care, Cathy
