Leslie Sansone Walking DVDs

After who knows how long sitting in my closet, I pulled out one of Leslie Sansone walking dvds - the walking & kicking one.  I don't like the dvds that the person leading is more like a perky cheerleader type.  I want a real person talking in a real voice.  I liked it tons more than I thought I would.  I like walking outside a lot but I've wanted a dvd that I could enjoy and do it inside at my convenience.  I think I've found it.

I like the Walking and Kicking dvd of Leslie Sansone.  I have a few others somewhere in the closet too.  I think I may have to actually find them.

If you have her dvds, could you tell me which ones, if you like them and maybe your own opinion of them and why you like them or whatever you'd be willing to share.  I'm looking for motivation to find them in my closet!!

Thanks, Cathy

Hi Cathy,

I have several of Leslie's DVDs.  But my favorite one that I use almost every day is Walk Away the Pounds Express with the stretchie band.  I usually do the 1 mile, but when I'm feeling perky or when I want to challenge myself a little, I will do the 2 miles walk.  She also has the 3 and 4 miles one, but I'm not quite ready for that challenge yet LOL.  I love Leslie's DVDs and I have been using them for years.  What I like most about them is that the steps are quite easy to follow, and once you know the routine, you can do just about any of the walks because you won't get lost.  In fact, there's a Walk Away the Pounds message board at Ivillage.com and Leslie posts there at times.  She also offers challenges throughout the year, so you might want to check it out as well.  Have fun!!!

Loving me...every day...for the rest of my life!

Hi Hope,

Thanks for sharing your favorite dvd.  I don't have the Walk Away The Pounds Express so I'm going to check it out. I appreciate you sharing your experience.

I like the easy moves.  I can keep up with her and not feel like a dork in being unable to follow along like I do with some dvds.  You can also adjust how much you can/can't do.  She actually encourages that which I like.  She seems genuine and not like in a constant cheerleader voice.

Thanks for letting me know about the Ivillage.com message board.  I'm going to check it out.

Thanks again!!  Cathy

I have the Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds DVD also, which I think I used once.  My question is do you really see results, or is it just a good motivator?

The 1 mile walk is easy.  It doesn't cause me to break a sweat anymore, but I do it because I know that it is helping me to stay more active, and I feel so much better when I do it.  But, In order for me to really see results, I think that I would have to do the 2 miles on a more regular basis.  The 2 miles DVD runs  for about 30 minutes at  a more rapid pace, and for me, it is a good workout.  For someone who is more fit...maybe at or near goal already, I'm sure the 3 or 4 miles would  do the trick!  I think that the key is consistency...but, of course, that goes for any exercise program.  How did you like the DVD?

Loved the DVD...it seems easy enough I'm going to try and do the whole 3 mile walk.

I see that there is a 3-pack of Walk of the Pounds - only used ones available, but they say "Like New"  1-Would the 3 pack be a good thing to have?   2-Can I believe "Like New'?   3-Is just the DVD enough?   4-I'm not a strenuous exerciser - is the a lot of jumping around & stuff like that?

Target (my favorite store) often has a good supply of exercise dvd's.  I got Prevention's Walk Fit there, as well as Yoga for Dummies.  They are kept in the exercise equipment section (at least at the store I go to).
