Happylapbander, how about salad dressings? Even to dip some deli meat or veggies into? You can easily do up some calories that way, while still being health conscious.

Hey thanks!   That's a great idea.  May even be able to indulge in my very favorite 1000 Island dressing as long as I stay away from the one with sugar.  My nurse said not to worry too much about carbs - but to watch the grams of sugar.   YEAH!!!!

Can you eat full fat salad dressings?  That's will definitely add some calories!  Ooops, I didn't realize that was already suggested.... I'll keep thinking LOL.  O.K.  I think I've got one now...How about avocados?  Do you like them?  That will add some calories for sure!

Full fat salad dressings aren't a viable choice but did get a vinegar & olive oil dressing that I think will be a healthy choice for a number of reasons.  Nope, don't like avacados at all - not even glaucamole (think that makes me some kind of a mutant LOL)  Thanks so much for your help!  I had today's food all figured out (worked on it for hours last night) then forgot to bring my morning and afternoon snacks to work   I'm just not used to eating any snacks so am going to have to come up with Plan B - may be a bit short on calories for today but will still be eating many more than I have been.  I WILL get this right!

Happy, adding the healthy fats to my diet took care of the constipation problems I had since childhood.  I can still eat the cheeses as long as I add the healthy fats.  I use peanut butter once in a while, but have added the heart healthy nut mixture as a snack....Hope this helps some.
