Hi my BOTT friends,

I hope your weekend was great.  Mine was nice.  Nothing major going on but hung out with my family and pretty much stayed home.  I took a nap on both days so I guess I obviously needed them.  Usually when I take a nap during the day I can't sleep at night so I never take naps.  Not this weekend though as I took naps both days and slept fine at night.

Here's my check-in:

CARDIO:  A beautiful day so I'm going to take a walk between getting off work and teaching class tonight.

FOOD:

B - Cottage cheese
S - Vegetable strips and string cheese
L - Turkey sandwich with high fiber bread
S - Cinnamon Toast Pretzels
D - Morningstar Soy Sausages (6) with green beans and small sweet potato
S - Power Crunch bar

Have a magnificent Monday as we BOTT!

We had a so-so weekend here.  Saturday was great but Sunday brought a major storm line that saw several tornadoes do some damage.  We've had to hit the storm shelters more this spring than we did all of last year.

Cardio - 15 min on the elliptical & 45 min circuit training.

Food:

B - One Egg Ham Omelet
S - Strawberry Protein Shake
L - Shiratake Noodles w/Marinara Sauce
S - Plum
D - Andouille Egg White Scramble
S - Protein Drink

Calories = 1427  Fat = 62  Carbs = 62  Protein = 150

Have a blessed day!

Morning all. Had a FANTASTIC birthday weekend. Got spoiled Sat and made a project on my sewing machine Sun. I made a cute pair of knicker cargo pants. They came out pretty great and I wore them to din din with my parents. Mom was totally impressed. Next up, finish a bodice I've been working on. My husband is never going to see me again. I got a dest for my sewing machine yesterday. I will never stop....

HELLO AGAIN CARBS... I didn't miss em too much, but we'll see if I can continue to lose on a 'real' normal diet.

Cardio - Really tired for whatever reason today. Will try for tomorrow.

Food -

B - 4 sausage and pepper "bites"
S - .25 cup Kashi cereal and .25 cup milk
L - Left over slow cooked beef with chilli seasonings and tortilla chips
S - Nature Valley trail mix bar
D - Pot Roast

OK - have had the  of a time getting back and staying on track.  Do OK for 3 or 4 days then want to eat my head off.

Finally contacted Dr. Lord's nurse and she gave me a gentle tongue lashing for keeping my calories so low and "ordered" me to eat 1000 calories a day.  This is a terrifying prospect for me as I've never been able to lose on 1000 calories a day.  But I promised her I would not weigh (or check my BMI) for 6 weeks.  I have visons  of being as big as an elephant by then, but I will remember how to cut back on calories if I am - after all I have the rest of my life to get this right!   She said my metabolism was mucked up from keeping my calorie count so low and it was little wonder if felt "starved"  Told her this was something new - can't remember ever being told I should eat MORE!!!

Will be going to Las Vegas next week (for an obesity seminar interestingly enough) and she even told me to do the best I can, but she would rather I exceeded the 1000 calories than to try to cut back to my 450-550.  This is a whole new way of eating for me.  Will take some getting used to.  She said 200 cal for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a mid morning snack and bedtime snack. for the other 400 calories.  Will see how this goes.

She also indicated that even if I didn't exercise at all I would still lose.  can't imagine that would be true - but I don't want to not exercise as I've been doing pretty good and managing just fine - a little tired sometimes but good ole' B-12 has saved the day.  Walked/stood for 5 hours Saturday in New Orleans (shopped - always have plenty of energy for shopping LOL) and have committed to walking an hour this Sat for cancer's Relay for Life.  Will do that - don't have to walk fast there and I want to do it in memory of my son who died from cancer last August.  Am sure there will be more than enough energy for that as it will be fueled by love.

So - starting tomorrow will commit to 1000 calories and no WiiFit check on BMI/weight.  At this point, am not sure quite what I'll eat to get my 1000 calories but will write it down.

I think it will be:
B - Weight Control Oatmeal + protein powder = 280 cal
snack - ????
Lunch - ????
Dinner - 1/2 Crawfish/pork sausage = 187 cal
               1 cup green beans - 45 cal
Snack - 1 cup soy milk + protein powder = 150
That's 662 so will have to figure out how to spend the 300-350 additional calories.

Any suggestions?  Want to maximize the nutritional value of what I eat.

Happy Lappy,
YOU'RE STARVING YOURSELF!!
How about adding in a protein bar for an a.m. /p.m. snack.  How much protein are you taking in a day?  Your body needs fuel, feed it!  I know that you're worried about gaining, start slow and see how your body handles it.

Deb, Today I will have 92 grams of protein which is too many unless I exercise a lot (excess protein is stored as fat).  Will plan for a bit less (no more than 80 grams) protein tomorrow.  This is all very new so will take some practice to get it right

Thanks for caring
