Think on This

Was looking ahead to next month on my calendar and read this quote which I think is so applicable to us:

"You measure your accomplishments by the obstacles you had to overcome to reach your goals"  Booker T. Washington

We all have experienced that we had to overcome more obstacles to have 5 compliant minutes (usually the obstacles are our thinking  - be that as it may, those can be/are monumental obstacles).  At other times, we meet few, if any, obstacles in having 7 compliant days.  But do we say "Job well done.  Good for me.  I'm so proud of me." at the end of each 5 compliant minutes?  Maybe yes and maybe no.  But that's truly a giant accomplishment on those "challenging" days.  Just as 7 compliant days is a giant accomplishment on those less challenging days.

So, measure your accomplishments by Booker T. Washington's yardstick today.

Thanks for sharing.  We are so hard on ourselves for our perceived failures, but in reality we are more successful than we realize!  Just recognizing and being aware of our little accomplishments each day can give us the motivation to keep on going.  It's almost like a positive self-fulfilling prophecy!  Have a great BOTT day too!

Loving me...every day...for the rest of my life!

I love that quote!  It is so true!  Overcoming obstacles makes reaching the ultimate goal even more rewarding!  (smooth sailing is very rewarding but there's something and putting in your blood, sweat, and tears into a challenge and reaching goal!)
