I'm startin day three

of the 5 dpt. Wow, I thought I was gonna lose my mind last night I wanted to eat so bad. Went to bed really early after eating jello and broth. woke up about 1030pm and had another protein shake. Brushed my teeth and drank crystal lite in the night. I am definitely a food addict. Have lost 6 pounds in two days so that makes me happy just hope I can keep up the after plan. Having canned salmon, eggs scrambled and boiled, jello and broth today. And lots of water!
Need your positive thoughts for the next three days.... this is rough but know I will feel so much better.  Lucy

Hi Lucy,
I've only done the 5DPT once, but from I can remember the first two days are the roughess, after that it should be smooth sailing; having lost 6lbs. is a good thing.  I admore you for hanging in there.

You can do this.  Today should be easier.  Just remember who you are doing it for - yourself and you are worth it.

What is the 5dpt?  I need it too!  OMG if i could loose 6 lbs in 2 days i would be in heaven!  That is what I gained.IHAVE TO GET IT OFF!  Please send details!

I don't know if I can explain this well or not but this is the 5 Day Pouch Test  (hence DPT).
It's kind of a way of checking and re-setting our tool. Makes you go back to the way of eating from early post-op. Gets the carb craving under control.

Day 1-2  is liquid protein (Protein shakes)
Day 3 is soft protein (Canned fish, eggs, etc.)
Day 4 is medium protein (hamburger)
Day 5 is firm protein (steak and chicken breast)
Also included broth, jello, sugarfree popsicles etc.

Someone else might have more official info. I just googled it.

I am on day three also, so I can relate with the feeling of losing your mind.  we can do this together.  i can say that it is easy to slip back into old habits.  I know I need to break them and realize I am just a plain old food addict.  6 pounds is great!!!! I lost 4, only 21 more to go:)
