Thursday, BOTT Cafe & Cardio

Hi BOTTers,

A friend of mine is in the hospital.  She was on the brink of having a heart attack.  She had a blockage of 99%.  She is 33 years old, has two young kids and came as close as you can to dying.  Thankfully she paid attention to the signs which saved her life.

My friend is very overweight and smokes.  Before this happened, she'd joined Weigh****chers and had lost about 30 pounds.  Thanks to this wake-up call, she doesn't want to smoke ever again and is more determined than ever to lose weight.

It was an extreme reminder that our health is everything.  I have been blessed with good health considering all that I've put my body through in being morbidly obese for all those years.  Today I am very grateful that my friend will be okay and for my own health.

Here's my check-in:

CARDIO:  On hold for a few more days.

FOOD:

B - 2 scrambled eggs
S - Chicken and vegetable soup
L - Chicken and vegetable soup
S - Cinnamon Toast Pretzels
D - Fish and steamed vegetables with high fiber bread as garlic toast
S - Power Crunch bar

Have a terrific Thursday!

Cathy

Hi Cathy,

Wow, what a reminder to us all. I am fortunate enough to have had the surgery at a young age (23 at the time) and I like to think I saved myself from those terrible scarey situations of declining health. I hope your friend pulls through alright. And I hope you start feeling better soon!

Cardio - Took advantage of spring and went for a jog outside for a change. Was wonderful!!

B - Turkey Breast
L - Chicken Salad on letus with green bell pepper (like a wrap!)
S - More Turkey, probably (and coffee)
D - Shrimps, likely
S - Jello

HEY!! Guess WHAT!! THE SCALE MOVED!

I lost 2 lbs as of this morning! Now I hope its not a trick or water weight... but ITS ABOUT TIME!

Lets hope this is for real!

Great job on the 2lbs! Cathy, I am so sorry to hear about your friend and hope everything comes out okay. It is truly a reminder of how much we need to take care of the bodies we have because we are not going to get another one.

I was planning on fish last night for dinner but we ended up at Taco Bell after Easter shopping for the kids, but I am proud that I ordered hard shell tacos instead of Chalupas or something else super fattening.

Cardio: 40 Minutes on elliptical
Food:

B-Nutrigrain waffle sandwich w/Egg Beaters, Canadian Bacon & FF Cheese, Orange
S-Low Carb Yogurt w/almonds
L-Grilled Chicken Spinach Salad
S-Hard Boiled Egg & Light String Cheese
D-Tilapia & Broccoli

1135 Calories, 74 Carbs, 50 Fat, 95 Protein
A gallon of water and vitamins to round out the day.

I hope everyone has a great day and hopefully you have a holiday tomorrow too!
