Back On Track Together
New to the Group! 5 DPT starts tomorrow
Hello Everyone.....
Well....NEVER thought I'd be here.
But, like they say never say never.
So, tomorrow is my day to start the 5 day pouch test. With winter leaving I have put on 17 pounds and I don't want this to turn in to 50.
Long story short....I will be 4 years out this May. I had lost over 230 pounds, and I will NOT go back to that place again.
At this point I have just been getting my mind in check this weekend. Trying to remember where I have been and where I was. I have just been "coasting" these past few months and it is time to get back with it. I am not here to make ANY excuses for why I put thses pounds back on, I do NOT want any sympathy. I did this to myself and I will OWN IT. With that, I will take back the control that I have lost over these few months.
I know what I have been doing. I know what triggers me to eat. I turn the the chips & crackers. I have not given in to pop or sugar, I will pat myself on the back for that. I have not TOTALLY failed this. But, I know what I can become if I don't get a grip. Guess it's boot camp time for me. Believe me, no one is harder on me than myself.
Just wanted to put all this out there so SOMEONE other than my husband knows whats going on!! LOL.....
BTW....I have never done the pouch test before and I was not able to drink any protein shakes/smooties after surgery, but I did make one today with blueberries and it was actually pretty good, I guess thats half the battle! Any suggestions on what to eat on day 3 would be appreciated.. I only like tuna, chicken and cottage cheese..so I just might stick to that. Also, I have been to the web site and tried one of her receipes too, YUM!
Thanks for listening!

Hi Carmella,
Welcome to BOTT, you will find plenty of support and information here. I celebrated my birthday this weekend and did pretty good in the eating category. I attribute my success to being "Back On Track" and making myself aware of what I'm eating and being accountable to myself. I don't know about you, or how WLS has affected your taste buds, but once again I have found that I have lost my appetite for things that I use to crave like chips, pretzels, and alcohol is OUT. So again welcome to the group and much success on the 5DPT, its well worth the effort.

My goodness - you ARE hard on yourself. I think it's very commendable that you are addressing the issue at this point!! I ended up putting on 30 lbs before it hit me in the head!! I am on day 1 of the 5day PT today. I haven't tried it before but it sounds like it might be the ticket to wake me up to using my tool again. I'm looking forward to trying the Feta Chicken salad on day 3 - sounds delicious.
Highest - 330
Lowest - 148
Recommitment - 181
Current - 177
Goal - 140
Welcome Carmella
I'm new to BOTT also. I love this group. Everyone here has been extremely motivational and encouraging. I've learned alot in just a short period of time.
I want to congratulate you on a job well done. 230lbs lost! It's obvious that you know how to work your TOOL :) We all slip up at times, but the key is getting BOT before it gets out of hand. You've taken that step Now all you need to do is wait for the results.
I know we can do it!!! We're all in this TOGETHER. Have a fantastic day.
