So what the Doctor said

I went today to my post op visit and got a clean bill of health.  I actually weighed 147 on the doctors scale with a BMI of 25.  Monday I am BOT and will take that morning weight and go from there...anyway...

So when you have RNY they take the portion of your small intestine that they reconnect to you new pouch up and over all your other intestines, including your large.  As time goes by and you lose weight a hole/space can develop between the new bypass and your regular intestines.  In an open procedure alot of adhesions and scar tissue develop but in laproscopic less develop and in my case he said I had no scar tissue at all.  So over the years i have had mini (and some major) attacks and my small intestine was slowly traveling thru this hole and with my last attack all my intestines including my large/colon went right on thru the hole to the other side.  he said he had never seen someones large intestine do this and I was certainly the most severe case he had ever seen.  So on my second surgery witht he assistance of another surgeon who specializes in RNY he returned everything to normal and tacked down all my parts so there is no hole anymore!

What an ordeal!!!!  Thanks everyone for being here for me!!  I love you all!!

My word, Jen!  I'm so thankful someone knew how to take care of you

Sounds as though, now that the repair has been done, you should be good as new - maybe even better

Have a fine day
