Thursday, BOTT Cafe & Cardio

Hi BOTTers,

I've written before about feeling overwhelmed and that there aren't enough hours in the day.  One of the things I'm doing is to take a few minutes every day to do something that nurtures me.  It usually isn't anything big.  For example, yesterday my dog was particularly sweet and calm.  I took a few minutes just to enjoy him.  I can't really describe it but it was one of those moments that I was really present and put everything aside.  Doing something for myself every day, even small things, has made a difference for me.

Here's my check-in:

CARDIO:  Wii Fit - going to try some different programs but will do Step Advanced and Free Step for sure.

FOOD:

B - Cottage cheese
S - String cheese
L - Chicken and brocolli salad
S - Cinnamon Toast Pretzels
D - Fish
S - Power Crunch bar

Have a terrific Thursday as all of us BOTT!

So glad to see you making a bit of "Me time" for nurturing every day.  Good for you and good example set for us

Had a fine BOTT day yesterday - both food and exercise - dis 57 minutes Wiifit free step, at pace 2.  Also did a little other "stuff".

Today I have an appointment after work which will mean I get home too late to exercise but do commit to a 100% BOTT food day.  BMI coming down very slowly since I've increased by daily calorie consumption, but that's OK - it is coming down.

We have possible tornados her this morning - but so far so good.  Be safe everyone.  Have the very best possible BOTT day.

Did lots of core and hip/thigh training today, rather than cardio. 5 sets, 15 reps, 45 lbs hip adduction and abduction. 120 sit-ups on the yoga ball with 3 lb counter weight.

I'm getting really tired of the numbers on the scale not moving. Something's gotta give pretty soon!

Wierd thing was I for once got all my water in yesterday, but the morning tinkle looked and smelled like I was completely dehydrated. Whats up with that?

Food>

B - Protein shake
S - String Cheese
L - Lean Cuisine sesame stir fry chicken
S - Laughing cow cheese and whole wheat melba toast
D - Not sure yet, possibly chicken stir fry again

Hi BOTT,
It's Thursday and what a miserable, dreary, rainy day.  Well, nothing I can do about that so much of my workout today will be indoors and on the treadmill.  I really loved being outside the other day and look forward to many more walks along the drive.  Still stiff and sore from my workout with the trainer, but that's because we hadn't worked together in quite awhile.

EXERCISE:
Free weights 45 mins.
Treadmill  60-90mins

MENU:

EM -   Dannon Yogurt Peach Smoothie w/ 1 scoop of    27g
          Vanilla Whey Protein
B -      4oz Cottage Cheese w/ peaches    12g
          Decaf Hazelnut Coffee
L -      2 sl Turkey Bacon w/ Spinach Quiche   17.6g
S -      2oz Tuna w/ cucumber slices       13.2g
D -      McDonald's Grilled Chicken Caesar   30g
          LF Italian Dressing   1g
S -      EAS Carb Control Protein Shake     15g

*Got so I had to come back and finish my menu!

I didn't see this before today... :) Thanks first to Cathy, whom I talked to on the phone this week, for helping me find this group! :)

Friday is my weigh-in day even though I am scale obsessed these days and weigh in every morning. The only one that counts is Friday's. So I am anxious about how that will go tomorrow morning. So far down 1.8 this week.

My Check-In:
B-Myoplex and Yogurt (see, I graze, took me at least an hour to eat this)
S-Quaker Granola Bar
L-Lean Cuisine Chicken thing, lol
S-Apple
D-Baked Chicken Parm (no breading and so yummy!) w/ broccoli

104g protein (I have an issue with getting in my protein, this is double what I normally get)

Water Aerobics with strength training

Water: 80oz.

I've had a rough couple of days.  I caught the stomach flu and man, it floored me! I wasn't able to eat anything, even keeping water down, for about 24 hours.  So my stomach shrunk a LOT!  I am feeling MUCH better, but now can't eat very much and I  haven't started exercising again.  Tomorrow I will go back to the gym and just do cardio and maybe some situps.  I have lost a size already, since starting my BOTT, shrinking out of my size 14 jeans that I just bought 2 weeks ago. So here's what I ate today, though it isn't much:

B- 1 egg scrambled
no snack
L- 1/2 protein bar
no snack
D- Little bit of french onion soup (1/2 cup)
later on I will snack on a little yogurt and strawberries

Looking for any ways to increase my protein when I just don't even feel like eating.  It's like going back to being post-op again. Maybe I need to have a protein shake for breakfast?  The protein bars are so filling!
