Ketosis and weight loss?

I was reading some back logged forum questions on BOTT, and found one that was intresting... Using ketosis for weightloss. Someone was looking to lose their last 40 pounds and was asking about it. Anyone have any new info on this? I'm curious how one 'throws themselves into ketosis'....

What is the difference between refinded and unrefined carbs?

Low carb diet or when I did it I was using Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution; lost 25lbs in 2 weeks and it almost killed me!

Very low carb and very high protein - I have done it on my own in the past, but don't remember that my weight loss was spectacular.  Atkins worked too until I began to use their bars, count carbs their way etc - then I gained.  I don't think it's the healthiest way in the world to lose.
