Hey BOTTs    Happy Friday  ...

I got an email update from Sparkpeople today and it had an article in it that I wanted to address here in our Move To Lose thread...

If you are a woman and suffering really bad cramps during your periods, or if you are older and Menopausal, are you aware of the positive benefits with exercising?

It's a fact that when you exercise it can help with monthly cramps and it's a great asset helping with hot flashes and hormone issues.  If you want to read more here are a couple of great articles:

Today is a cardio day for me, I won't have access to a car so I will hit the basement either do 3 miles on the treadmill or cardio boxing.

So BOTTs, Did You Move To Lose and or Maintain Today?  Come on in and be accountable, share and inspire others to Move To Lose

Stay Sexy, Sassy and Strong

Take care,
Kathy

Getting ready to do my 2 mile walk at lunch.  It is only 32 degrees today, but sunny and no wind.

Tomorrow is errand day, so I move it all day.

Sunday I am doing my 1st 5k of the year.  My goal is to do 5 this summer, but it is moving closer to 7 at this point.  See what Sunday brings.

LOVE the topic......I want to add my 2cents.  I have 3 herniated disks in my lower back and suffer terrible back pain 50% of the time.  However, I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and find it actually HELPS my back!
My hubby and I just joined a gym that is, literally, next door and it is 24 hours....key card entrance.  I went to the gym today and did 15 minutes on the bike, 30 minutes speedwalking and then worked on the leg machines (3 weight machines that concentrate on the leg muscles).  Then, because I was feeling motivated (that freakin scale still says above 190!!! ) I did 3 sets of 15 situps and one set of 20 situps on my obliques.  I'm proud of myself and it felt GREAT!

Hey RedHeadBeauty,

We are so proud of you, what a great job    Don't get caught up in the Scale Hell    If you have not already taken your measurements please do and also find out your body fat.  These are two alternatives for measuring your success or failure.

Keep up the great work outs you are doing  Also, cardio is the best way to get the scale moving, but weights increase muscle for burning cals...

Take care,
Kathy

i am moving to lose every day (except sunday) for 10 weeks (actually 9, since i just finished week 1).

i joined a 'boot camp' intensive program at a Jiu Jitsu gym and i have to go every morning for 1 hour for 10 weeks. I follow that up by stopping at the gym on my way home and either take a spin class or do an hour of cardio. i have waged war on my fat cells!!!!

the scale was not moving no matter what i did, so i am HOPING that tomorrow's weigh-in will be something good!!! i deserve to see the evil scale move down already! it has not budged, so lets see what a week of strict dieting and exercise does for me... i'll report back in the morning...

i will say this, despite my sore (major understatement) muscles and exhaustion, i feel better today than i have in a long time. very UP and HAPPY and less stressed and enjoying everyone and everything around me a lot more.... who knew? lol.
