Upcomming challanges?

Are there any upcomming challanges? I have a goal that seems to be getting closer and closer and I seem to make no progess at all towards. I want some motivation to help me get that 'prize' and I think a challange would be helpful. Being accountable would be even more helpful. If I challange myself it doesn't work. Maybe if it was challanging myself with others?...

So are there?

Don't know what your goal is or how often you weigh yourself, but if this appropriate, I challenge you to put your scales in the trunk of your car for 3 weeks and only use your tape measure to determine your progress.

Well that can be done. I do get on every morning, I can not get in for a few weeks. That doesn't change my eating habits though. In fact I think I'd be LESS motivated to change my eating habits if I didn't have to answer to myself in the mornings.

Mornings always work out so great... then 3-ish rolls around and the snacky monster hits. I need a challange to keep me from giving in.

Its my own mind game, I guess.

Then, for goodness sake, don't quit - you are the expert on what works for you.  You keep right on doing what works  We're all different.  I'm a daily weigher but found I put myself under a lot less stress, if I when I exercise daily I go by my daily WiiFit programs BMi measurement (even though it also computes my weight)  Again - it's so important that we each do what works best for us

You might consider making of things you like about yourself (things you like about yourself in the morning ) then read it over (and over and over) in the afternoon and know that you weren't lying in the morning and if it was true in the morning it's still true in the afternoon - and you were 100% compliant in the morning so you really can do it - perhaps that will help you believe in yourself.  Just a suggestion - there has to be something out there that you can do.  Hope others chime in and respond with ideas

Here's to a wonderful weekend

i was starting my own challenge for myself tomorrow.. but you and anyone else would make it more fun...
I call it the 100's challenge (since i want to be back in the 100s)...

for 2 weeks:

1) 100 ounces water daily (minimum...)... PLAIN water... coffee, tea and s/f drinks do not count
2) drop daily caloric intake by 100
3) accumulate 100 miles - bike, treadmill, eliptical, walking, running, whatever.... just add them up daily

you in????

Hi Jaxmom!
I would love to join you in the water challenge!  I really do not like plain water at all, so it will be a big challenge for me.  My challenge will be to drink 8 cups of water daily!  Thanks for the idea!  I'll have to work my way up to 100 ounces one day.

Loving me...every day...for the rest of my life!

awesome, hope101!!!
did you start? keep water in your car and at every red light, drink as much as you can. at commercials when watching tv drink a big gulp each commercial. make it a game.... i don't let myself get in my morning shower until i finish a big glass of water, etc......
make your challenge fun.

Sionnaingeal,

I am so there with you girl! I have upcoming events like my sons graduation in May, and I am also in my sisters wedding in August but the latest I can have my dress altered is mid June. I know this is all coming up but I cant seem to make any headway on losing my weight.

Soo......I thought of a challenge to start with for myself and thought it might work for you too, if you are not already doing it. I am horrible about drinking my 64 fluid ounces of water daily, so that is my goal, starting today. I know it helps make a person feel fuller, and also helps with flushing toxins out of the body too. I have to start out with something cuz the food control isn't working at the moment for me. I will also try to do protein throughout the day, but no set plan specifically yet. Exercise is not really my thing and I know it should be, but it's not. If any of you think of something for me to help motivate me, I would soooo appreciate it, and help make me accountable too.

Also, does anyone have the back to basics list? Ya know, the one to get back on track? Maybe suggestions on types of foods or high protien, low carb or whatever?

Hugs,
Sherri
