5 Day Pouch Test

I just ended my five day pouch test and thought I'd share the results.  I averaged 1266 calories a day, 51 grams of carbs a day, 39 grams of fats a day and 172 grams of protein a day.  I also lost 10 pounds after being on a plateau for more than five months.  The real positives are that I broke the carb habit, found a protein powder that I like and will use for snacks, and most important, actually feel full again after eating.  Of course, the real proof will be what happens from here on out.  I have more details in my blog.

I would recommend this test as it seems to have helped me get back on track and is a real encouragement.  I'm 5 pounds away from a 200 pound weight loss and it finally looks achievable.  Thanks to all who posted about the test.

Big Ed - Congrats! What are great result!!

Karen - There is a lot of info on the 5 day pouch test that has been posted on this board. I'm not sure if you can do a search in the posting archives, but it wasn't that long ago. I've been contemplating it myself.

Well done Ed! I can attest that the 5 day pouch test has worked for me too in helping me get back on track with protein and what I choose to eat. I do plan on doing it again. Like once a month just to give me that nudge to stay the course I'm on. Great job Ed!
