Hi Karen,

I'm Marilyn. Welcome to BOTT! I was doing the same thing you were, drinking with my meals and man all the bread I ate in a day! Didn't realize just how much until I took the 5 Day Pouch Test. I would have toast for breakfast and then if there was a fres loaf of french bread at home I would have 3 or 4 slices with my dinner. Since the test I have not eaten any more french bread. I did have 2 pieces of toast the other morning for breakfast though but I had cottage cheese on it. I also haven't been drinking coffee or tea since the test either. I've made a point to drink 4 protein shakes a day and to include protein more with my meals even if it's cottage cheese. Wishing you luck with getting back on track. Old habits are easy to slip back in too but I'm enjoying creating and hopefully maintaining my new good habits. Hope to see you round on the board. Take Care,

Marilyn

Welcome Karen   I'm so glad you have chosen to join us.  I hope you find this site as helpful as I have.  They are the kindest, most caring, supportive, and accepting group of folks I've every come across.  Because of their caring and help, I've been able to get back on track and, nearly every day, stay on track with my food and exercise and now I've about 10 pounds to go to get back to my goal weight.   We're all human and we won't be 100% compliant for the next 100 years - but, as Cathy teaches us, it's not the getting off track that's important - it's what we do the next day.  And for everyone here,  this is the place we've found what we need to give us a good "Next Day" (however long we may have been off track)   It's a place where it is safe to share where we are with our food/exercise and in our head - it's a place where it's safe to be "real" whether real is good, bad or indifferent at that moment.

Again, welcome and thank you for sharing.  Please post often - we need each other.

Hi Karen,
Welcome to BOTT.  It is sooo easy to fall back into old eating habits.  The hardest thing for me is not drinking with meals.   This is a great site to help you get back on track.  Remember to post you foods and check in.
You can do this!

Hey Karen, welcome to the BOTT board. We all share some of the same issues when it comes to bad eating habits. The key thing we need to remember is we need to control our food, not have the food control us. I look forward to reading about your success.

Hey Karen,

This is the best board ever. I just love how sweet and supportive (yet firm) everyone here is. Come back here often and it will help a LOT! I know it's helping me!

I have been wondering about the 5 Day Pouch test too, and what it's all about. Also, isn't there some rules out there for going back to basics to start getting back on track? If so, I could use them too.
