Tuesday - BOTT Cafe and Cardio

Hi BOTTers,

Where does the time go?  My barely a teenager son has been asked to "go out" with a girl.  I sound like an old fogie but in my day, it was going steady but today going steady is outdated and boyfriend/girlfriend is going out.  Whatever!

It seems like yesterday I was dropping him off for his first day of preschool, taking him trick-or-treating for the first time and he cried because he didn't understand that he didn't get to go trick-or-treating every night, t-ball, and so many happy times and memories.  He sees himself driving and I see him in diapers.

The lesson here for me......enjoy every single day.  Kids are at a certain age for a brief time.  Same for me, make the most of every day.  Time goes by so quickly that I want to be fully present and enjoy those moments we are given every day.  For me, it puts worries of the scale into perspective.

Here's my check-in for today:

CARDIO:  Weather is beautiful - going to take a walk this evening.

FOOD:

B - Cottage cheese
S - String cheese w/vegetable strips
L - Talapia
S - Cinnamon Toast Pretzels (Kay's Naturals)
D - Talapia
S - Power Crunch bar

Have a terrific Tuesday as we are BOTTing.

I had a not-to-pleasant surprise last night when I did my WiiFit Body Test.  I expected my BMI to go down a tiny bit - instead it went up some.  I knew I had exercised well and I knew my caloric intake was well within reasonable limits, so I didn't "freak", but I did have to deal with some of my head stuff.  I'm happy to say I did deal with my thinking WITHOUT eating other than to follow my BOTT plan for the day.  REAL PROGRESS.  I'm guess it was just the change from my full liquid few days to regular food - most likely consumed more salt and my elimination wasn't quite the same with me eating solid foods.  At any rate, I know these last 10 pounds to goal are not going to come off like they have been when I had more to lose.  Don't have to like it - just have to do it.  Right?

Same commitment - 100% BOTT food and exercise day.  I did 35 minutes exercise last night - all aerobic.  Have been doing a combination of balance and aerobic exercises.  So, burned more calories - for me, I can expect and increase in exercise to show up on the scales (and I assume in my BMI since that's what I'm focusing on now) 3 days later.

I've asked one of my co-workers whose children have a Wii to ask one of them if she'd be willing to come by and teach me how to use my Wii DDR program.  She thought her daughter probably would.  Think, for me, that will be much more efficient than trying to follow the manual - I'm not very good at the direction thing

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Oh Cathy,
Unfortunately, this is only the beginning.  I have a girl and two boys and when my son got married, I cried like a baby,  I didn't for my daughter. There is something about boys growing up and their moms.  You're right, enjoy every day!
I'll be working out tonight and my food for today:
Breakfast - eggbeaters w/cheese
Snack - apple w/peanut butter
Lunch - chili
Dinner - pork chop w/veggies
Snack - fage w/sf caramel
I hope that everyone has a great day!

Oh Cathy, I don't have kids but I have 2 nephews and a neice. The oldest nephew will be 14 in May and last Christmas he went to a Winter ball with a 15 yr old! The youngest nephew is almost 6 months old and crawling. I have yet to meet him. Their only sister ijust turned 10 in December and has been cheerleading since she was 6. Every time I see pictures of the kids they look a little older each time.

Cardio: Nothing today cause I'm sick with the flu going around in our household right now.

B - Strawberries, granola and Activia yogurt
S - Protein shake
L - Protein shake, steamed rice
S - Protein shake
D - Grilled Tilapia and vegetables
S - Protein shake

Working hard to get more protein in. Anyone have suggestions  for Protein that's hot but that's not food? Somedays I'm cold especially with the weather here in Washington always raining and cold. Some days I'd really like a hot bowl of soup, but that seems to lack protein.

Thanks,
Marilyn

Marilyn,

I make protein hot chocolate. I mix the chocolate protein powder and a Swiss Miss Diet Hot Cocoa with 4 -6oz of warm water until completely mixed and then fill the rest with ho****er. I do this with a 12-16oz hot cup so it does make alot. Another idea is to order some Click, it is awesome hot or cold.

Sounds like you are doing fabulous, keep up the great work!
