Back On Track Together
Checking In...
Hi all, just wanted to check in and let you know that I am alive and well. I was doing really well in retrospect until about three weeks ago. At that point I started going through a deep depression and my sick head told me that it was no big deal that I had lost nine pounds since January. I'm sure you know the conversation, "Nine pounds in two months? What a failure you are. You might as well eat whatever you want because with you watching what you eat makes no real difference." My head is so good at getting me to eat again.
Consequently, I have been getting into the sugar again. If I take yeast-preventing supplements, my sugar cravings are almost nill, but I stopped taking them because I felt like it didn't make a difference. The good thing is that I am coming out of my depression and starting to be able to talk some sense into myself. So... I packed up my huge stash of Easter candy hidden in my bathroom, put it all in a lovely springtime-themed gift bag, and sent it home with one of my son's skinny "normie" (no weight problems) friend and his normie four brothers and sisters. I am now committed to taking my anti-yeast meds and fighting the good fight again. Luckily, I have only gained back about 5 of what I had lost.
So... that's it for now. Hope you are all doing well, and I hope to check in here more often.

Yes, the anti-yeast pills are available at most health food stores. There are at least a half-dozen different brands and I have yet to discover which one works best, so I take a couple of different ones at a time. It's not for vaginal yeast infections, but for intestinal yeast. One brand I take is called Yeast Re-leaf, another is CandiGone (Candi is short for Candida, not Candy!), and there are several others. Most recommend to take with an acidophilus supplement, which are actually available mainstream at Target.
The theory is that it is the yeast that is craving the sugar so it can reproduce. Take away the yeast and the craving for sugar is gone, or at least is significantly minimized. For me it works, but it takes a couple of days of taking the supplements to kick in.
Good luck, God bless and thanks for the encouragement!

Anne - I'm so proud of you!!!! Giving up candy at Easter - now that is something!!!!! Give yourself a giant pat on the back - you're awesome
Aren't we funny - when we aren't losing, we convince ourselves that what we need to do is eat? Go figure.
I'm so glad you're here on this site. I makes all the difference in the world to me being able to stay on track. WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER
Have a good ole BOTT day

Good to see you here Annie.
It's amazing what we can convince ourselves of when we listen to negative head talk. good job getting rid of the candy. I look forward to hearing about your success now that you've got your head back in the game.
Post often and keep us updated.
